When you put a symbol inside another, you can swap the one inside with any other available symbol of the same size using the Overrides panel in Sketch.
Overrides in Sketch allow you to swap:
- Text styles
- Layer styles
- Nested symbols
- States and variants of symbols
You'll find symbol overrides in the inspector panel in Sketch. Simply select a layer attribute to change—swap text styles, layer styles, and symbols or update placeholder text.
Tip: For the symbol source, you can hide or show overrides for different layers from the Symbols page in Sketch. This allows you to define the flexibility or rigidity of your design system for your end user experience.
