The status bar can be removed for viewing on the desktop and in the InVision iOS app. If the status bar is hidden and the prototype is viewed in Safari on iOS, there's no way to remove the status bar and it will be visible due to limitations in Safari web apps on iOS.
While viewing the screen via desktop in Preview mode, click the configuration cogwheel on the lower right (next to the lightning bolt). In the config area, check the Hide status bar box to remove from the desktop view.
