To confirm your version, check the upper right corner of your dashboard. On V7? Check out this article instead.
Collaborate on prototypes by adding comments and emoji to screens. You’ll be able to select different comment types, add more people to the conversation, or keep conversations private.
You can only leave comments on individual screens. There is currently not a way to leave general comments for the entire prototype. While in comment mode, use the Right and Left Arrow keys to toggle through each screen and make comments.

Adding comments

To add a comment to a prototype screen:

  1. Open the prototype and navigate to your desired screen.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click the comment mode icon (Image_2018-08-24_at_6.37.13_AM.png).
  3. Click anywhere on the screen.
  4. Type your comment, and click Send.

By default, the prototype creator will be notified about the comment.

If you are logged out or do not have an account, InVision authenticates your comment by asking for your name and email address. If your email address is not associated with an InVision account, you will be prompted to sign up for a free account before your comment will post to the prototype. If your email address is associated with an InVision account, click Sign In.

It's possible that you have not been invited directly to collaborate on the prototype but you are mentioned in a comment or have been given the public share link. To view or leave comments, navigate to the bottom-right corner of the page and click the toggle button, as seen in the GIF below.

The pink Comment type makes the comment viewable both within the app and via URL share links. This type is useful for sharing with external viewers.

A Private Comment is only viewable to you and collaborators. External stakeholders are unable to see these comments.

A Note is a comment type that can only be seen by the prototype owner and collaborators on a prototype. External stakeholders and clients are unable to see these comments.

Mentions

You can notify someone on a prototype or board by using our @mention feature in a comment. Simply type "@" along with their name in your comment or reply. Type “@project” to notify all users—regardless of their respective roles—that have commented or been mentioned.

Alternatively, you can click within the comment field and type "+" to display a list of all connections for the account.

Mentioning new stakeholders

If you need to mention someone who is not a current stakeholder, collaborator, or user, you can add them by opening a comment and typing "@" followed by their email address. That person will then receive an email notification that they have been mentioned in the prototype.

Mentions for Enterprise accounts

If you are a prototype owner or collaborator on an Enterprise account, you can @mention a user in your organization, and that person will become a stakeholder. We will send a comment notification to this user, and they will be able to access the prototype and all the comments via the share link.

Since the user belongs to the organization, they can @mention another user in the organization, and they will be added as stakeholders too.

Within the comment field, you can also type "+" along with an email address to add stakeholders outside your organization. These stakeholders will be able to access the share link and the comments in it. However, unlike members who belong to your organization, these users will only be able to @mention users who are part of the prototype.
