Add an InVision prototype to Freehand

Take your presentations and brainstorming sessions to the next level. Combine the collaborative power of Freehand with your prototypes by embedding fully functional InVision prototypes directly into your Freehand documents. Changes made to the prototype in Build mode update live in the embedded prototype and imported screens in Freehand.
Add an existing prototype to a Freehand document
Embed an existing prototype into a freehand to enhance your collaboration and feedback sessions.
- Open your Freehand document.
- On the bottom toolbar, select Explore > Prototypes.
- Use the Search bar to search for a specific prototype and the filter and sorting option you prefer:
- Created by dropdown:
- Created by anyone
- Created by me
- Sorting options:
- Date created: Sort documents by most recently created.
- Last updated: Sort documents by most recently updated.
- Last viewed: Sort documents by most recently opened. This is the default setting.
- A-Z: Sort documents alphanumerically.
- Created by dropdown:
- Hover over the prototype you want to add and select Embed interactive prototype.
- Select and drag the handles around the prototype to resize it.
You can also use share links to embed prototypes in Freehand. This is useful if you want to embed prototypes from a different workspace than the one you're signed in to.
To embed a prototype in Freehand using a share link:
- Open the prototype you want to embed.
- Select Share, then copy or generate a public share link.
- Open your Freehand document.
- On the bottom toolbar, select Explore > Prototypes.
- At the top of the Prototypes modal, select ••• More > Import prototype using share link.
- Paste your prototype’s public share link in the URL field and select Embed Prototype.
- Select and drag the handles around the prototype to resize it.
Import specific prototype screens to Freehand documents
To import specific prototype screens instead of the entire prototype into a freehand:
- Open your Freehand document.
- On the bottom toolbar, select Explore > Prototypes.
- Hover over the prototype with the screens you wish to import and select Select screens.
- Select the screens you want to add to the Freehand document to select them.
- Select Import screens.
Export a prototype into a freehand
To export prototype screens to a new freehand from the prototype:
- Open the prototype you want to use as the basis for a Freehand document.
- Near the top right, select ••• More > Create freehand.
A new Freehand document appears, pre-loaded with the screens from your prototype.
You can also create freehands when viewing any screen of a prototype. In the console toolbar, select Freehand.
Interact with a prototype in Freehand
To interact with an embedded prototype in Freehand, hover over the prototype and select Play Prototype. If the prototype has hotspots, you can use them to navigate through the screens.
To open the prototype in a different tab, select the prototype. In the contextual menu, select Open in new tab .
In the contextual menu, you also have the option to lock the prototype () to prevent other collaborators from moving or editing the prototype. Select ••• More for the following options:
- Copy link
- Copy
- Delete
- Duplicate
Remove a prototype from a Freehand document
To remove a prototype or screens from a Freehand document, select the prototype or screens and press Backspace
or Delete
on your keyboard.
You can also select the prototype or screens. In the contextual menu, select ••• More > Delete.
Create freehand from Craft
