Publishing screens to an existing project made by someone else

Someone inside my organisation made an InVision project and added me into it.
I use InVision Studio to design the screens but I am not able to Publish them into the right project.
They even transferred ownership of the project to me but that did not help.

According to documentation, in Studio, I normally should see an option when I press "Publish" to "Select existing" prototype from a list but I don't have that option.

Looking forward for some insights!

Hi Adriano,

Thanks for reaching out to our Community! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your project.

Based on your description of the issue, I suspect that the prototype you're wanting to publish your Studio file to is a regular prototype.

Studio prototypes are a separate project type to regular prototypes, and it's not possible to update a regular prototype via Studio, and it's also not possible to transfer ownership of a published Studio prototype.

You do have a few options to workaround this:

  • You can export your Studio screens as PNG or JPG files and upload them manually to the prototype
  • You can create a new prototype via Studio

I hope that this information is helpful, but if I've misinterpreted your query or you have any additional questions, please let me know. In that case, any screenshots or a recording of the trouble you're having would be helpful, if you're able to share here.
