Sketch keeps crashing when using Craft Prototype

Hello,

As soon as I press 'K' for prototype, Sketch crashes. Tried it four times now. Restarted my machine, still facing the same issue. 

Below are the specs:

  • Sketch 72.4 (124482)
  • Mac OS 11.4 (20F71)
  • iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) 
  • 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
  • RAM: 40GB

Hi all,

Our apologies for the disruption where Craft Prototyping could cause the Sketch application to crash. Our engineers identified the source of the issue earlier, and we have now released a fix not long ago. We’ve tested here, and we believe everything is working correctly once more.

Please update your Craft Manager and verify your main Craft Plugin (as seen in your Sketch Preferences) is now at version 1.0.114.



Please give Craft Prototyping another try and let us know if you're still having any trouble. Otherwise, thanks for your patience while we worked to fix this issue.

I have the exact same issue. 

Cannot use Craft at all at the moment.

I came across this thread after seeing others issues. My Craft plugin does not allow me to update to 1.0.114.  It says it's up to date and every time I check I have uninstalled the plugin from Sketch and removed the file from my computer and downloaded a new instance from the website. It still does not update. 

what am I supposed to do?

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help. Craft issues can often be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, so I'd like for you to give that a try using the instructions below.

To uninstall Craft:

1. Click the Craft Manager icon in the macOS menu bar.

2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner.

3. Click Preferences.

4. Click Uninstall to uninstall the plugins.

 

The plugins should now be uninstalled. To reinstall:

1. Click the Craft Manager icon again in the macOS menu bar.

2. Select the Tools tab at the top of the window.

3. Click Install.

If you continue to experience issues after reinstalling, let me know and I’ll be glad to walk you through some next steps!

Gloria, 

When I check the preferences section within the Sketch Plugin list, it does show the updated version. However, when I look at the application in my Mac toolbar (upper right) the version is still at 112.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for following up! 

If you're clicking "Check for updates" within the CraftManager app itself, and it says you're up to date, then you're good to go. 

Please note that version number you see within Sketch's "Manage Plugins" view is different, as this is referring to the Craft's Sketch plugin, in particular, while the version within Craft refers to the Craft app as a whole, so these numbers will be different. 

I hope this clears up any confusion here, but please let us know if you have any further questions.

Olá, também estou a 3 semanas com este problema, mesmo tendo atualizado o plugin do Craft, sempre que clico na tecla "x" ou "k" o programa encerra automaticamente. 
O que devo fazer?

To get a better idea of what's happening on your end, I'd like to gather some more information. 

  • Are  you able to send through some screenshots or a screen recording showing this issue occurring?
  • Which versions of Craft, Sketch or Photoshop, and Mac or Windows OS are you running? 
  • Do you find that this affects a particular file, or is this a general issue?

  • 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR

    O erro está ocorrendo em todos os arquivos no sketch e para piorar hoje o programa tem encerrado sem aviso prévio e quando é reaberto os plugins estão desativados.

Thanks for sending those details through. 

I see that you're running Sketch 53.2. Could you please try upgrading to the latest version of Sketch if you're able to, and confirm whether the issue persists afterwards?

Currently, Craft is only supported for the two most recent releases of Sketch, and the version you're running is quite a lot of updates behind and no longer supported.
