Adding videos and GIF animations

Why is it not possible to add a video or GIF as it is done in Principle? Why is there no export of animation to video file or GIF? This is a very necessary function. A lot of people don't use Invison for this reason. Please add functionality.

Thousands of people are waiting for this!!!

Hi Andrey,

Thanks for taking the time from your day to reach out to us about adding video and gif support to Studio.

Thankfully, I'm happy to report that we are indeed tracking interest in the following -

  • GIFs in Studio
  • Exporting from Studio to GIF
  • Embedding videos in Studio
  • Exporting from Studio to video

I wish I had a better answer for you, but we take your suggestions to heart so if you have any ideas that would make our Products better for you, please don't hesitate to send them our way.

Thanks again and have an excellent rest of the week!

I like Invision Studio. But if it is not possible to add GIF, MP4, Lotty, I have to use the Principle. Please add import and export GIF, MP4, Lotty.

Thanks for the response Camille.

While we're at it, let's have a GIF quality slider and a "Dither" checkbox on the Export window as well to control the compression of the GIF exported from InVision Studio.

Lastly, lead the way for UX design tools and be the first to support both importing and exporting .APNG as well.

Animated PNGs are the next evolution for the aging GIF format, and all browsers right now supports it.
It supports 24 bit transparency too, unlike GIF's 8 bit, and the quality is so much better than GIF at lesser file size. It'll probably easier and less heavier to implement that too on Invision Studio because of that.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for taking the time to share this additional feedback on how you'd like to see GIF support implemented in InVision Studio!

I will open a ticket on your behalf to track your interest for this potential feature of integrating .APNG support into Studio. Please keep an eye out for an email indicating that we’ve formally tracked your feedback.

Have a great day,
