Issue craft plugin from sketch to new dsm

Hello, First my apologize if this problem has already been addressed on the forum. I want to use New DSM to create a design system. I created my board on new DSM, so far, it's works. But when I want to upload a component from Sketch to New DSM using Craft my board is inactive. I can see, in the header of the popup a message "Explore the new DSM. Unlock the potential of your design system." Plus, 2 links "learn more" and "open new plugin". So, I click on Open new plugin and another popup opens : "Could not open New Design System Manager. Check if you can find the New Design System Manager in CraftManager Tools tab" So, I check in CraftManager Tools and New Design System Manager is active. I don't understand why i can't use it. if anybody has an answer for me, I'll be grateful. Thanks

Hi there!

Sorry to hear you're running into trouble with the New DSM tool!

We'd like to gather some additional details to assist in troubleshooting this further. Would it be possible to provide the following?

  • What operating system are you using? Please include the version (e.g. macOS 10.13.3 or Windows 10).
  • What version of Sketch/Photoshop are you using?
  • What version of the Craft plugins are you using?
  • Could you provide a screen recording or screenshots showing what’s going wrong?

Look forward to hearing back!

Thanks,

Camille

Hi Camille,

First, thanks for you quick reply.

I've just done the last update of Craft Manager (1.0.103) and now it's working.

Thank you, Camille

Hello,

I have quite the same issue that the one explained above but it doesn't work even though the plugins are up to date. I could successfully upload my sketch file into the web in order to use it as a library and design system but still get the same error message "no design libraries found".

I may have miss a step but really can't find what's wrong. Thank you in advance for your help and support.

You will find attached some screenshot to help you understand my situation.

Regards,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Thanks for reaching out today! I'll be happy to help with troubleshooting this.

Taking a look at your screenshots, it appears that you're uploading your Sketch file to DSM via the New DSM plugin, and then trying to access it again via the old Legacy DSM plugin.

Currently there are two active versions of DSM, New and Legacy, and a New DSM library cannot be accessed via the Legacy DSM plugin.

You can read more about using New DSM here: Intro to DSM

If you're looking for how to use your Library's elements within a Sketch project, you'll find these within Sketch's shared libraries. These can be accessed via the Insert menu (or the Insert window — "C" keyboard shortcut).

More on this here: What Are DSM Managed Libraries?

I hope this information is helpful, but if you have any additional questions, or are still experiencing issues, please let us know!

Best,
Raynor

Thank you Raynor for your support,

It's now clearer in my mind. I was confused looking at old posts showing how to use DSM.

Regards,

Arthur
