Error while uploading my Sketch document to DSM

Hi, Everytime I'm trying to upload my Sketch document to DSM it hangs at 87% and after that I get the following message: "There's been an error uploading the document, please try again". I tried five times, but it didn't work. I'm logged in into CraftManager, inVision etc. I tried to duplicate the file and rename it. I'm trying to upload a document to an existing DSM which had two other files connected before this one. What should I do to get it working again? Kindest regards, Tamara

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear about this issue. Just so we can dive deeper, I’d appreciate if you could please provide me with some additional details:

  • Could you please share a screenshot showing the error you're running into?
  • What operating system are you using? Please include the version (e.g. macOS 10.13.30)
  • What version of Sketch are you using?
  • What version of the Craft plugins are you using? Please include Craft Manager and Sync+Prototype version number. Those system spec will allow us to try and replicate this issue using the same software versions.

I was having the same problem here. It would get to 86%, freeze, then throw a vague error.

  • macOS 10.15.7 (19H15)
  • Sketch 70.1 (108880)
  • Craft 10.0.103
  • Sync+Prototype 2.3.172
  • New DSM 1.0.5
  • Legacy DSM 1.1.42 (if it matters)

Someone on the team posited that file size might be the trouble. It had been uploading fine, but we added a lot of components in the past couple of days. The file had become nearly 780MB! After deleting the components we'd added and trying again, it worked fine. A quick Google search for Max File Size DSM and we learned about the 500MB limit. So it seems in the current version of DSM, the error shown is generic rather than the one seen at https://support.invisionapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042868171-What-if-My-Sketch-File-is-Too-Big-for-DSM-

The error message would pops up after it stops at 86%. I'm using....

- Operating System: MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

- Sketch Version 70.1 

- Craft plugins version: v1.0.103 (216) - Might not be the one you're looking for but let me know 

P.S I also happen to have already downloaded the craft manager plugin, but when I logged into the DSM of an organisation, it just keeps telling me to download the plugin, when I already have it...

SOLUTION:

I had the same issue. Stuck at 87% then the 'error uploading document' message.

I think this happens when libraries are especially large. My document had 2,000+ icons. I took 3/4 of the icons out, uploaded again, and it worked! Then I fed the icons back in about 200 icons per upload and Invision was able to handle it. Fairly tedious, but effective.

So, if you have a really large document I would suggest trying to upload in smaller increments. Hopefully Invision can accommodate for larger files in the future!

I'm having this same issue. I tried to remove some of the icons and re-upload but I'm still getting an error. Can I get some help with this?
