Shape interaction button

Hi guys, is it possible to give an interaction button a special shape? At the moment it seems that it only may be simple rectangular and not e.g. half rounded or even more complex. It ignores the path and the active button area is inspite this rectangular. Thanx an cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin,

It is possible to give an interaction button any shape you want.
However the button area would retain the shape of the end points (farthest points of the shape from top to bottom and from left to right).
This is because all shapes (irrespective of number of sides or complexity) all inherit the positions of their far ends.
A circle would have a box border round it if you want to transform/resize.
Same with a parallelogram or a rhombus or even a blob.

So while you can have any shape you want, the button area would always seem to be rectangular.
P.S; This won't reflect in your prototype if you're creating one. Just shows in most cases that your shape is transformable/resizable.

Regards,
Wurah.

Hi Wurah,

thanks for your answer. In my case the different click areas are overlapping (I am creating a clickable pie chart). So the only way to avoid this is to create lots of smaller rectangles as invisible layovers that fill a complex object (in my example a quarter circle) and give them all the same interaction.

Thx and cheers
Kevin

That's an interesting workaround.
Does the trick perfectly.
