Project Organisation | InVision Spaces

As the design lead and manager, I have learned to manage my files and pages on my Sketch files. I’ve had design team sync ups to get the team on board and make sure we follow the same nomenclature for screen and page names.

InVision Spaces has taken this to the next level by helping me organise on a project level, through this one can bundle all boards and freehands as well as the prototypes-making it very easy to trace back design decisions.

Communication across teams and syncing has been simplified. Our projects are accessed by our PMs and dev team as well as our CEO and MD. A few are available to our clients as well. While it took a few All Hands meetings to get everyone accustomed to this, we’ve seen fewer emails already asking for permission to view files since member permissions are role based and easier to configure.

Hey Ashima! As a team, we did something similar when Spaces came out. We talked about how we'd group projects, what should go in them and how we wanted to approach naming. It's created some nice consistency and makes it really easy to find what you're looking for, especially when you're not sure what you're looking for, lol.

Another thing to point out about Spaces is that you can set them to Public or Private (invite only) at any time. It's really great for keeping something under wraps when you don't want too many eyes on it, then swap it over to public when you want to add some virality to what you're working on (other teammates can see public spaces along the left hand sidebar).  Can't tell you how many times I've made a separate copy of a google doc to work in peace without other eyes on it   =D

It is the simplicity in finding all my projects neatly arranged and easy to locate that does it for me.
Simple and straight to the point.

Hi Ashima

Thanks for this post.

Spaces has made my life a lot easier, and there is nothing better than having the ability to create structure within a platform that melds with ones ways of work. The teams I assist, and lead are loving this as we get to organise and catalogue everything that is done which everyone then can access. Allowing us to streamline our processes and collaborate more efficiently.

I love how flexible Spaces are! Being able to organize them in a way that makes the most sense to my specific org and the projects we work on is wonderful.
