How do I find the center of a rectangle's side?

I was just trying to start drawing a path starting from the center of the top side of a rectangle, but there doesn't seem to be any guidelines or indicators of where the center is other than actually counting the little squares when you zoom in all the way. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Julian,

If I get you correctly, you would love to find the vertical centre of the rectangle.
The way I personally do this is to:

  • Activate or show rulers (Shift + R does the trick or go to view from your menu bar, canvas, show rulers).
  • Drag any point on the ruler from the left. You'll notice a grid line already.
Hover it on the rectangle somewhere near the centre and it will automatically snap to the centre.

Similarly, you can do it in the other direction (horizontally) by dragging any point on the ruler from the top.

Regrds,
Wurah.

P.S: See picture attached just for fun.
