Screen as Overlay Interaction Slow/Buggy after Cloud v7 Update

I have several prototypes that use the "screen as overlay" animation to simulate interactions. Ever since the Cloud v7 update, these interactions are not working correctly. They either don't work at all or there is a several second delay between clicking the hot spot and the interaction triggering, rendering the prototype basically useless.

Hi Nick,

Sorry to hear that the "screen as overlay" animations aren't working properly after updating to Cloud V7. To get a better idea of what might be causing this, can you please provide some additional information?:

  1. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview or other OS details.
  2. Your browser details which you can find here.
  3. Were these animations working properly in Cloud V7 before? If so, when did you notice this behavior starting to happen?
  4. Can you please provide a screencast or screenshot(s) displaying the issues you're running into?
  5. Sometimes we'll see issues with a browser passing outdated data, which can be the root of odd behavior seen in a prototype.  Can I have you check for issue you see with an overlay when signed into an incognito window or another browser?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

I have the same or related issue.

Project type: iPad (iPad Pro 13)

Scenario:

  1. Link Toggle opens Overlay (Top-Center) Navigation Drawer
  2. Navigation Drawer - A. Link to current screen works as intended, B. Link to separate screen shows as blank (until the window is refreshed)

I get a console error in Chrome dev tools as well:

Thank you.

Hi Brandon,

Sorry to hear you're running into similar issues with your overlays! As above, we'll need to grab some extra details from you so we can take a closer look here:

  5. Can I have you check for issue you see with an overlay when signed into an incognito window or another browser?

Once we have those additional details, this will allow us to investigate further.

Cheers,

Camille

Thanks Camille. Unfortunately I can not provide a screencast. (It is not a public project)

Same results as I've described happen in Firefox and Safari.

But I've subsequently changed the overlay to a screen link to work around the issue for now.

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for letting us know, and I'm glad to hear you were able to find a workaround. We definitely understand if you're unable to share a screencast, but we'd still like to troubleshoot this to find out what might be going on. If you have a chance to provide the other information requested, that would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance,

Michael
