Why my images look blurry on invision board?

I exported some images from Sketch, the size is very big about 4000x 2000px, after i upload them to Invision boards, it looks a bit blurry no matter in thumbnail size or open up in full scale. It looks like the image compressed through the upload process. Any clue? How can i fix that?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi George,

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your uploaded Sketch images. To get a better idea of what's causing this, can you please provide some additional information?:

  1. What browser and operating system are you using? You can get these details by going to http://www.whatsmybrowser.org/, clicking “Copy”, and pasting the link it gives you here.
  2. Could you provide a screenshot showing what’s going wrong?
  3. What version of Sketch are you using?
  4. How are you uploading your images to your Board?
  5. What file type are your images from Sketch?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

This the OS and browser i am using: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/b/3RBBM

Sketch version 65.1

I can only upload by dragging image to the Board on web, there's no way to upload by Craft right?

I tried JPG and PNG, both looks a bit blurry after uploaded to the Boards.

The image size is about 4000 x 2000 px.

I can't share the screen with you as it is confidential works from company.

Basically it is not sharp as the original image that i exported from Sketch.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for providing those additional details, George! You are correct - you can only drag & drop or browse files on your machine to upload.

There's one more thing that I'd like you to check. In our documentation, Working with Boards, it mentions that "Images must not exceed 10MB (megabytes) per file." Can you check to see if your 4000 x 2000 px image is less than 10MB? Additionally, if you resize the image before uploading to your Board, does it still appear to be blurry?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hello,

I (and several others on my team) am experiencing a similar problem. Sketch to InVision via Craft or uploading an image from the file system, the image loses fidelity.

I appreciate that you have opened a ticket, but is there a way to have more visibility into the resolution of this issue?

Thanks,

Andy

Here you go Shaina:

1. https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/b/JQPCL

2. InVision version of the image

Image in Sketch

3. I can try to reproduce this on a public board...not accessible currently.

4. Sketch 66.1

5. Both using Craft to sync Sketch to InVision and have tried importing from file system -- same result

6. I have tried both PNG and SVG files. Same blurriness present.

Thanks for following up with that information, Andy! Since you are using Craft to sync, can you please also provide this information?:

  1. The version of Craft Manager that you're running.
  2. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview.

Look forward to hearing back again,

Shaina

Hello Support team,

I too have similar question as posted above. We have built mocks in Adobe XD. The output - in png format when we upload to Invision, the sharpness goes off. It looks fuzzy. When the same I try to look in adobe xd generated prototype link, it looks perfect. I cant share the entire screen details but let me put small screenshot.

Tool: Adobe XD 32.0.22

As seen in Adobe XD prototype link

As seen in invision link.

Just to tell you the process. We export the art-boards to png files. The files are perfect and sharp. We upload it in Invision. The moment they get uploaded and when we see the screens as we get on to hyperlink them, we see that they are not as sharp as original designs and look compressed.

A speedy resolution would be appreciated.

PS: The designer had used Adobe XD on Windows. I even tried it on Macbook Pro 2020 Cataline version too - same result. Hope that helps.

regards

Lokesh
