How to remove nagivation gui

Hello all,

Just wondering if there is a way you can remove the navigation GUI overlay.  The little < > bubbles on the left and right side of the page and any other overlay.  I don't mind if the functional feature set is still there so I can hit left arrow key or right arrow key to cycle through I just want to remove the GUI overlay.

Let me know,

Thanks!

Hey Jason,

Thanks so much for reaching out in Community!

You can remove the left/right navigation arrows in a prototype by simply adding a hotspot to the first screen in your project.

However, we are currently tracking a feature request to allow disabling the navigation arrows on share links. Please let me know if you would like me to add your interest for this potential feature.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I am here to help!

Cheers,

Shaina

Hey Shaina,

Thanks for the response.  My first screen does have a hot spot on the first page which links to page 2.  The arrows still show up.  Is there something specific you have to enter into the hot spot to remove these?

Hi Jason,

I apologize, but I think I must have misunderstood your request. The workaround I suggested above refers to hiding this in a share link, but it sounds like you're referring to a console link, correct?

If so, we are currently tracking interest for a feature that would provide the ability to disable the left/right arrows and page X of Y count in Preview Mode. If this is what you're looking for, I'll be happy to open a ticket on your behalf to add your need for this.

Thanks,

Shaina

HI,

the first screen of my prototype does have 3 links but when I share it to public view it does have the 2 arrow inside a circle. There are no option to hide them and they make the prototype useless for user test because people will use them instead of navigate through the prototype. Also the prototype in general lately are not working very well, screens go back and forth on their own. When you move to another screen you see 'flashing' other random screen before getting to the one you are supposed to. So it would be good to look into that to.

Thanks

Hi Marco,

Sorry to hear that you're running into issues with previewing your prototypes lately. To get a better idea of what's going on, can you please provide some additional information?:

  1. Can you please list each of the issues you're encountering when previewing your prototype?
  2. If you're able to do so publicly, can you please provide a screencast and/or screenshot(s) displaying the issues you're running into?
  3. Are you having these issues with Studio or non-Studio prototypes?
  4. How did you create your prototype?
  5. Are you encountering these issues with all prototypes or one in particular?
  6. Are you using InVision Cloud V6 or V7? If you're not sure, find out here.
  7. Can you please provide your browser details which you can find here?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

thanks for your answer. I'll answer all your question below:

  1. Issue A: When I click on a certain hotspot a it start a 'chain' of screen that automatically redirect to other screen for 3/4 times and then finally stop (I'm trying to simulate a loading bar). From this screen onwards if I click on any hotspot it takes to the right screen but before showing the right screen it show me briefly another random one or sometimes even 2. Issue B:when I made a link public and I share it the arrows to navigate between screens are visible to the user. I'm talking about this arrows:
  2. I'm afraid I can't share it publicly
  3. Do you mean inVision Studio then, no
  4. Designed the screen in sketchapp, uploaded them to invision through craft and built the prototype in inVision
  5. I checked a few and actually the 'flashing' issue seems to happen only with my latest one. I suspect it might be because of the use of the 'Automatic re-direction' I've been using to simulate a loading bar. The navigation arrows though are visible on all prototypes when shared with public
  6. Chrome 83

Thanks

Thanks so much for following up with those details, Marco. Below are my responses and some follow up questions:

  1. For Issue A, let's investigate this a bit more with the questions below to determine what might be causing this issue.
As for Issue B, this does sound like the feature request discussed above as there's currently no way to disable these arrows. That being said, I will open a ticket on your behalf to track your interest for this potential feature. Please keep an eye out for an email confirming we've done so.
  2. No problem! Once I gather the rest of the needed information, I'll pull you into a ticket with our Support team so you can share this information privately.
  3. Thanks for clarifying that this isn't a Studio prototype.
  4. Since you've created your prototype with Sketch and synced using Craft, can you please provide your Sketch and Craft Manager version details?
Can you also please provide a screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview?
  5. Thanks for looking into this. Hopefully we can isolate the issue to this one prototype.
  6. Are you viewing your prototype in Chrome 83 on desktop/laptop or mobile device?

Look forward to hearing back,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

thanks for your answer. The issues navigating the prototypeappear on both on my iMac and my MacBook Pro.

I'm on my MacBook Pro now so I'll provide those details:

You are right I was using Chrome version 83.XXX and now I've updated on both the device and it works. Although the prototype is not for me watch but share and test with users. How can be sure they have the latest Chrome? That flashing thing shouldn't really happen in any case...

Not sure if it's still relevant but my version of Sketch is the 67.2 and the version of Craft I'm running is the latest one.

Cheers

Shaina Torgerson ☝️ - is there a status update for this?

Correct me if I'm wrong, this previously used to be a feature right?

Its a security issue: https://stackoverflow.com/a/12605313/1303691

therefore its not possible to hide the Navigation on a tablet permanently with one single call at the beginning of the view creation. It will be hidden, but it will pop up when touching the Screen. So just the second touch to your screen can cause a onClickEvent on your layout. Therefore you need to intercept this call, but i haven't managed it yet, i will update my answer when i found it out. Or do you now the answer already?

Best regards,

Viva Tv
