Artboards not syncing properly

So I am trying to upload and replace an existing artboard in Invision prototype from my Sketch App through Craft. The artboard present in Invision prototype and my Sketch file have the same name and same page contents. But whenever I try to upload and replace, Invision is uploading it as a new artboard rather than replacing the existing artboard with the same name.

Please note that I had recently renamed by Invision prototype artboards. So is it an issue that Invision still takes the old version name rather than matching it with it with the new name?

Please help!

Hi Manoraj,

Thank for reaching out here in the Community. If you rename an artboard in Sketch that was previously synced via Craft Sync, InVision replaces the original screen with the newly updated screen.

If that's not what you're experiencing, can you confirm if the screen that you are trying to replace a copy of the orignal artboard? Or have you possibly deleted the original screen at any point? In this case, when syncing, the screen would not be replaced but uploaded as a new screen.

When syncing from Sketch artboards are matched to screens in InVision Cloud by a unique ID. Therefore if you e.g. duplicate the artboard in Sketch and sync again, the duplicated artboard will have a different ID and will not replace the original screen but instead create a new one, even if the names match.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you run into any further issues and we'll be happy to dig deepr.

Hello Monika,

Thanks for the swift reply.

My issue here is that, I have already uploaded my artboards from Sketch to Invision prototype. After uploading, I changed the artboards names in my Sketch app and hence had to renamed my already uploaded artboards in Invision prototype to the new name. Now that I have made some components changes in my Sketch app and I want to re-upload and replace the screens in my Invision prototype. When I'm trying to do that, rather than getting replaced, Invision is creating a new version of the artboard.

As you had mentioned in your reply, I feel that Invision is still taking the older artboard name, hence not replacing the screen rather creating a new screen. Is there any solution to bypass this? If so please do share the solution.
