Bug on hover for 'screen as overlay'

Hi.

Currently, I'm trying to make 'on hover' effects for my links on one of prototypes. And for some reason on most of my prototypes I face an issue with layout of my overlay.

What I'm doing:

1. have a big screen with my web-site

2. set 'zoom/scrool behaviour' to 'scale down to browser'

3. select hotspot upon my text link

4. select 'screen as overlay'

5. use just text as overlay (not the whole site, but only image with target text)

In the result I see that I have problems with aligning the 'hover text' with initial text. It is always with different size.

Also, I saw a similar problem here. But it's almost 2 years old, so I decided to create a new one.

Please, tell me how to fix this behaviour. And if you have any additional questions - feel free to ask.

Hi Niko,

Thanks for writing into Community! Sorry to hear that you're running into some issues with your overlays in your prototype. To get a better idea of what's going on here, can you please provide the following information?:

  1. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview or other OS details.
  2. Your browser details which you can find here.
  3. A screencast or screenshots displaying the issues that you're facing.
  4. Are you running into these issues with multiple prototypes or one in particular?
  5. As mentioned in the other Community thread you linked to, do you currently have two screens set up that are the exact same, but one contains the non-active link and the other screen contains an active link? The screens must be the exact same size in order for the hover feature to work correctly.

Thanks in advance,

Shaina

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to provide a screenshot showing the console error. In order to help determine what's causing this issue can you also provide the same information requested above?:

  1. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview or other OS details.
  2. Your browser details which you can find here.
  3. A screencast or screenshots displaying the issues that you're facing.
  4. Are you running into these issues with multiple prototypes or one in particular?
  5. As mentioned in the other Community thread Niko linked to, do you currently have two screens set up that are the exact same, but one contains the non-active link and the other screen contains an active link? The screens must be the exact same size in order for the hover feature to work correctly.
  6. What steps have you taken before encountering this issue? If you can provide a screencast, that would be great!

Thanks in advance,

Shaina
