Art board uploaded through sketch using craft plugin is resetting the background colour of the invision page to the background colour of the art board.

As a point of clarification, InVision determines the background color for your screens by sampling the colors of the corner pixels of your artboards. Every time you sync your artboards with Craft, the screen background color is automatically recalculated. This is the expected behaviour, though we are aware it currently leads to overriding any manual background colours you've set.I completely understand it can be frustrating to have to manually set the background color over and over again. We're currently tracking user interest in a potential feature request to allow Craft Sync to respect any manual background colors which were set in the web console. I will go ahead and add your +1 for this request, so that our Product team is aware you'd also like to see it implemented — please keep an eye out for an email from our team shortly!In the meantime, as a limited workaround, I also found that, if the option "Apply to all current and future screens" is checked when manually setting the background color, Craft Sync will preserve the background color override you've set.

Background color is getting overwritten for me once I upload the art board through Craft from Sketch. I should have mentioned it in my initial comment.
Every time I upload the art board i'm setting the "Apply to all current and future screens" option for now. :(
You're spot on: manually set background colours do get overwritten when syncing the artboards with Craft. This is the expected behaviour, though I certainly understand it can be inconvenient :( As mentioned in my message above, I've added your +1 towards changing this behaviour — you should have received an email from our team to confirm this.
In the meantime, enabling the option "Apply to all current and future screens" when manually setting the background color prior to syncing can indeed be used as a workaround.
