Inspect Mode -- Library: Text Styles

On one of my Invision prototypes, in the Inspect Mode there is an area called "Library" with a text style field.

The "Library" section is not showing in other prototypes and I would like it to. I can't figure out how to get it to display.

Hey John,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community! If you are using Design System Manager (DSM) to build your prototypes in Sketch, then you certainly should be able to view DSM data within the Library section. Please check out this article as it will outline the most likely causes as to why you are not able to see that information in your prototype. Also, I recommend swinging by this article here as it will further explain how to set up and view your DSM data in Inspect.

Hope this helps! If you've got any follow up questions about this or run into any trouble, please let us know.

Hi Monika. Thanks for your response. The prototype is not built with a DSM. It's using typography settings and symbols stored in a Sketch Library file.

I'm posting larger screenshots of the inspect area to help with context. In the first screen shot, the "Library" section appears.

In this second screen shot, the library section does not appear. Interestingly, the pages generating these inspect tool readouts are in the same prototype.

Hey John,

It's Mike from InVision. Thanks for posting these screenshots for us to review.

After taking a look at your elements, it looks like the first item was taken from a library as both the text and color styles are showing the path. However, the second element looks like it was created in Sketch, outside of that library.

With that being said, do you know if the first element was taken from a library? If so, I would suggest to add your second element to the library, establish the text-style for that element, then re-add the element to your Sketch document and Sync again.

However, if this does not seem correct, please send us a screenshot detailing how these elements are created and where they are being pulled from.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out, I'm here to help any way I can.

All the best,

Thanks Mike! Thanks so much for your and Monika's assistance. Both of the elements are being pulled from the same library. I'll show how I pulled them below.

The first element, the one where "Library: Text Style" is showing, is set like this:

The second element, which is failing to show the text style, is set the same way with the same library:
