Hotspots not syncing

InVision is randomly ignoring some of the Hotspots created in Sketch.

Honestly, it's really a pain in the ass to always have to manually check all the hotspots in a prototype after syncing. This is the most important feature, without hotspots InVision is basically a super expensive gallery view. It doesn't make sense that it doesn't work. It's very irritating when I am testing or when I am showing my work to someone and It reflects bad on me as the designer.

Please fix this issue as soon as possible.

Hi Andreu,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Community and so sorry to hear about the issues you're having with syncing. Can you please provide some additional information?:

  1. The version of Sketch that you're using
  2. The version of Craft Manager that you're running
  3. Can you confirm that these are Craft Prototype interactions (blue or purple vs orange for the native Sketch functionality)?
  4. When syncing your screens to the project, do you sync specific or all screens?
  5. Was it working correctly before? If so, when did you notice this starting to happen?

Look forward to hearing back,

Shaina

I share the same Problem as Andreu described. After updating single screens and hotspots I've defined, they are suddenly not working in Invision. I am designing for a big project where Sales is actually using my prototype to sell the new software - it reflects very badly on the company and me as a designer if this is not working. I am running on the lates version of sketch 59.1 and the craft plugin is also up to date.

Experiencing the same issue: Some hotspots just don't sync. On a previous project I attempted to:

1. Delete art board from InVision

2. Remove the Craft links to the art board in Sketch

3. Rename the art board

4. Relink to and from the art board via Craft

This would fix that art board, then it would break links for the screen following this art board. I did this over and over on about 4 art boards and each time the problem would shift to the next one. So I finally created a new project in InVision and uploaded each Sketch page (with multiple art boards) one at a time. That resolved it for a bit.... Now the 2.0 InVision project is again dropping links.

Sketch Version 59.1 (86144) (happened in a version of 58 as well)
Craft 1.0.89 (163)

Same issue here.

Here's my scenario.

  1. I create a new artboard via Alt-drag and make a few changes (remove existing links, add new elements, add new links to existing artboards).
  2. When I upload the new screen, the link pointing to an existing artboard is not realized in Invision.
  3. If I then reupload the existing target screen along with the new screen, then the link appears. Sometimes this doesn't help so I uncheck the "Prevent upload of unmodified artboards" and try again.
  4. In addition, the reuploaded existing screen can sometimes lose their link to other screens. When this happens, I have to reupload the entire project to fix the issue.

Craft 1.0.90 (166)

Sketch 61 (89581)

Mac 10.14.6 (Mojave)

Make sure "Prevent upload of unmodified artboards" and "Only publish artboards that have been modified" are DESELECTED. These so-called "Preferences" don't recognize links as artboard modifications. They also default to being selected with every update or when you re-boot. It took me two hours, but I just found the second one. I was aware of the one in the upload window.

Hi Jacqui,

Thanks so much for chiming in here with the workaround you've found! I'm glad to hear this cleared things up for you.

I would however expect Craft to recognize your hotspots when updating a Prototype that you've synced previously. Would you mind sharing the following information with us so that we can take a closer look into what might be going wrong?

  1. The version of Sketch that you're using
  2. The version of Craft Manager that you're running
  3. When syncing your screens to the project, do you sync specific or all screens?
  4. Was it working correctly before? If so, when did you notice this starting to happen?

We look forward to helping get things sorted, and look forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks
Michael
