Bug: Components alignment changed when importing from DSM

Hi, I am using Sketch 57.1 with DSM. When importing a UI components from the DSM, I encountered a bud. In short, the text alignment changed from align in the middle to align to the top.

Here're the screenshots to demonstrate this problem:

1. I was trying to import the button components from DSM to my sketch.

2. Here's  the setup for the button text: it should be horizontally and vertically aligned in the middle.

3. However, when I dragged the components to my sketch canvas: the alignment changed to align to the top and the new components imported from DSM has also alter my previous button component.

Can you help me to trouble shoot this problem? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

UPDATE

Our apologies for the trouble with the vertical text alignment and spacing values get lost in DSM when overriding components that are attached to Sketch text styles. Great news! Our engineers identified the source of the issue and a fix has been released in the latest version of Craft. We've tested on our end and everything's working correctly once more.

Please update Craft to the latest version and give this another try and let us know if you're still having trouble.  We do want to note that the symbols will need to be re-added to DSM after the update in order to work properly. Otherwise, thanks for your patience while we worked to fix this issue.

I am having the same issue - is there any indication of when this might be fixed? It's currently breaking a significant portion of our design system.

If it helps to diagnose the problem, I'm pretty sure the bug is with the way that the DSM handles text styles. I noticed above that the OP has a style applied to the button text (best practice, as you advise). I have found that if i upload a component with no text style, the vertical alignment of the text remains intact.

I would also encourage others to post here, as I'm guessing the bug detailed above must be affecting many other users. It will only be proiritised correctly if people make a noise about it. To my mind, it breaks the whole point of the DSM and makes uploading components futile, so should be treated as high priority.

Hi,

I have the same problem, we've been in touch with support and hope this is a priority bug. The vertical alignment is a very useful and sometimes essential feature which I need to be able to use. Please prioritise this bug, as it has been an issue for a while now and is getting in the way multiple times an hour every working day.

My team is having the same issue, we are trying to add our design library components to DSM but all of the elements are importing into Sketch with the same text alignment issue. Very frustrating. Is there going to be a fix for this any time soon?

Unfortunately, we do not have any updates for you on this particular issue at this time.  We're terribly sorry that this continues to hinder your workflow, and hope to have good news for all users facing this issue soon.

As soon as we have any updates from our Engineering team, we will be sure to post an update here. I will also be raising this with our DSM Product Team during our next meeting.

In the meantime, some users have found that detaching the Text Style(s) before syncing the object to DSM can help. I understand this is not an ideal workaround, but I still wanted to mention it in case it could be helpful.

The above is not really a viable workaround. It goes against the best practice that you yourselves advocate, which is that all components uploaded should have text styles attached. It is astonishing that for such a fundamental flaw in your system, which is being highlighted by ever increasing numbers of your users, your answer is still we have no update as to when it will be fixed. This thread was started in September of last year and the problem predates that.

As mentioned above, we know that this workaround is less than ideal due to the points that you mentioned in your response. Thanks for your update on the Vertical Alignment Issue. However, even when I updated my Sketch and Craft manager to the latest version. The alignment problem is still there. Please see the following picture as an example.

I am using Mac and my Sketch version is Version 63.1 (92452). My Craft version is 1.0.92.
