Why is the username for Sign In case sensitive?

Anyone else notice that when invitations are sent to new contributors in InVision that the sign up process is case sensitive? IE there's a difference for [email protected].... and [email protected]... A person has to match the format or login won't work. Now I have invitations for both lowercase and w/ uppercase characters for some individuals.

 

Is that variance really needed? Definitely caused us grief trying to figure out why people couldn't get access to projects.

So sorry that you and your team ran into this issue, Blake! I would like for our Support team to take a closer look at this for you, as this should not be the case.

Are you seeing this happen with all new collaborators? When did you notice this issue starting to happen?

I've only seen the issue once, and I'm not fully sure it wasn't user error (typing in the wrong password) during Sign in. I tested my sign in and both upper and all lower works, no difference. The one instance we observed was Aug. 3rd. This was the first time the user setup their account.

Might need to investigate the case sensitivity on the Invite people to project dialog/modal. I'll try that...
