Removing old JSON links from Craft Data

I've been testing Craft Data using JSON in Sketch. This involved testing different JSON file structures to see what worked. The end result is a list of the many JSON files I imported during testing. Telling the links apart is difficult as the URL is clipped from the view.

I'm wondering if it possible to remove old links from the UI? If there was a cache that I could delete to remove all links I'd be happy with that option too.

Thanks for reaching out here in Community about this! It looks like our Support and Product teams are tracking a feature request for the ability to completely remove JSON documents from dropdown menu in Craft Data.

If this sounds like what you're looking for, please let me know and I would be happy to add your interest to this request.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

I can't believe this is a feature request and not just part of the plugin. Also a little stunned it was first requested August 2019.

I would also like this feature added. I'm experimenting with using Craft Data with JSON files and even though some of the source JSON has been deleted, Craft is somehow still adding it to my files. Better yet, it's somehow jumping between the non-existent file and the new one I've added so nothing is populating correctly. This experiment is now full stop.

Hi Camron!

Thanks for your interest in this feature. To my knowledge, it is still being tracked as a feature request. If you would like to add your vote to this request, please fill out a support ticket detailing what you're looking for.

Have a great day,

Caitlin

This is really crazy! It appears this feature is fully lacking the ability to update the JSON file into Sketch after it's been edited and saved somewhere else. This makes this completely useless.

Good to see others taking an interest in this feature request. Don't forget to submit a ticket with Invision Support here detailing the feature we're are looking for. Maybe upvoting would help too

Caitlin,

Thanks for your reply. I submitted a support ticket yesterday for feature request tracking although honestly, being able to delete a file you've previously added seems less like a "feature" and more like the basics of good UX. Considering how long Craft has been using the JSON data feature, I'm amazed nothing has come up before btobin's original post.

Either way, glad it's on their radar.

Anyone know where the data/reference from this is stored?

I looked through the preference files (.plist-files) in the Library thinking I could delete the reference from there.

Couldn't find them.

Sebastian,

I have no idea, when I looked I couldn't find them either. I thought about removing and reinstalling Craft but knowing the issue will eventually pop-up again, there's no point.

Hi Sebastian and Camron,

To access this data, go to Users⁩ ▸ ⁨<user>⁩ ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Application Support⁩⁩ ▸ Craft Manager. Since the Library is a hidden folder, you will need to do a little bit of digging around by following the instructions detailed here.

The CraftManager.sqlite file should be the one that carries this data. However, please be warned that wiping this file will wipe all settings for Craft.

If you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to reach back out here.

Hope this helps,

Shaina
