Inspect not targeting Symbol layer

When I click on a symbol, which links to a DSM asset, the layer that ends up being selected is one of the symbols child layers. This is really confusing for sending work to developers who have to click on the item they want to inspect, and fiddle around in the layers panel to find the link to the asset in DSM.

Is there a way to avoid this behavior?

Hi Cail,

Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out here in Community about this. At this time, the ability to select groups by default is only available with Studio prototypes.

However, we're currently tracking a feature request to change selection functionality in Inspect when clicking grouped layers in Inspect to select the group rather than the individual layer. Please let me know if you would like me to open a ticket on your behalf to track your interest for this feature.

If you're looking for something more robust, please feel free to provide some additional information about what's you're looking for in your response.

Look forward to hearing back,

Shaina

Hi Shaina, yes please, i'd be interested in knowing when this feature arrives, because its firmly in the "cons" list for Invision as we evaluate our toolset.

Thanks for confirming, Cail. I will get a ticket in to track your feedback and share with the Product team.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any other questions or suggestions as you dive into Studio.

Have a wonderful day,

Shaina
