Hi everyone!
My name is Stephanie, and I’m a product manager on the Studio team. I want to thank you first for your ongoing feedback on our SVG import experience and second for your continued patience as we worked to solidify this feature-set. SVG import is such a critical piece of the design workflow, and we are really excited to now have made tremendous strides in this area. Over the last few releases (release notes here), we’ve added new SVG features such as the ability to import text, added support for many additional SVG filters, and fixed countless bugs.
The SVG import experience should now feel solid, and we truly couldn’t have resolved these major pain points without the voices of you all and the rest of the community. Please give SVG import another try, and I’d love to hear any additional feedback or questions you may have!
All the best,
Stephanie and the Studio team

Hi Pete,
Thanks for providing those details. I apologize for the frustration that this issue is causing.
To confirm, are you referring to an issue where your SVGs with rounded edges get cut off after uploading to Studio? If so, this is related to a known issue that our Product and Engineering teams are investigating. Once I hear back, I would be happy to open a ticket on your behalf with our Support team so they can keep you in the loop on this issue.
Look forward to hearing back,
Shaina
Yes, it seems to happen more so on rounded imported SVG's.
Thanks for letting me know, Pete. At this point, I would like our Support team to take a look at this for you, and will open a ticket on your behalf. Please keep an eye out for an email from one of our Support agents soon.
Hello all~
Our Engineering team is aware of this issue. In the meantime, a handy workaround is simply clicking into the vector shape, clicking the pen tool and completing the rounded shape.
Beth
I'm having something similar. I'm draw in illustrator and try to import via clipboard and one of the curved shapes keeps getting cut off.

The interesting thing is, that I tried to add extra anchor points and modifying the geometry, but it still keeps cutting off at the same place.
Yesterday I imported a sketch file. It looked fine, but after exporting some icons as svg it looked like some anchor points are missing.
Hi Janos,
That definitely seems odd! I'll have Support take a look for you. Keep your eye out for an email from the team.
Beth
How long will this bugfix take? Without proper svg import I can not use this program. My logo imports as it should everywhere except InVision Studio.
Hi. Is there any news? Please fix it cause this bug does not allow you to work with any icon set.. impossible to use Invision Studio as a primary tool until you solve it.
Thx
Hi Diego and Janis,
We are terribly sorry for the issues that you and several others are running into with SVGs in Studio. I have raised this issue several times with our Studio Product Managers and they are aware of each of your feedback. We completely understand how frustrating it can be to wait for a fix on an issue like this, and are sensitive to the fact that this causing a disruption in your workflow.
Stephanie Shaw, one of our Studio Product Managers, chimed in on this thread stating that:
| Due to the disruptive nature of these issues, our team has prioritized an effort to improve the overall SVG import and export experience. This will be incrementally delivered over the coming months.
This statement continues to hold true and she has been providing us with updates on the issue each week. We have dedicated a team of three engineers currently working on this initiative and focused on the overall experience importing and exporting SVGs.
I also encourage you each to open a ticket with our Support team so that you can stay in the loop on any updates. I'm sorry that we're unable to provide any more information at this time.
Have a wonderful day,
Shaina
If anyone else is experiencing this issue, please contact our Support team directly here to report.
This is really a critical part of any prototyping tool. Any update?
I have same issue.. SVGs are being cut... Not only that but I cannot copy an svg file ans paste it directly on invision. I am coming from sketch and i used to copy and svg file and paste it directly in the artboard.
Hi everyone,
The team is working on an update here, but I'm unable to put a date on that. A current workaround is clicking into the vector shape, clicking the pen tool, and completing the rounded shape.
Beth
Hi! The issue persist. We will be waiting a new update. Thanks!
UPDATE
We're happy to report that our Engineers have pushed out a fix for this particular issue. SVG files should now import correctly with Studio. Please update to Studio version 1.23.1 to ensure you receive this fix.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Let us know if you need anything else!
Hey, invision Team, I was got something bug on SVG format, Please resolve it or else sorry to say that shifting to another prototyping software is better for me, please resolve it as soon as possible thank you
software version 1.25.0
Hi Vaaak Sounds,
I'm so sorry that your SVG is also not appearing as expected in Studio! Just so we can dive deeper, I’d really appreciate if you could please kindly provide me with some additional details:
1. Can you please send a screenshot of your operating system information? We need to see both the “Device specifications” and the “Windows specifications” sections on the “About” page. To grab that info, click the Start (Windows icon) button, and then click Settings > System > About.
2. Are you able to please attach the affected SVG file so we can run some further tests?
Thanks so much!
Monika
Thanks a lot Stephanie for the update and thanks for the hardwork. Are you going to introduce a copy and paste feature for svgs please? In sketch app, you can cope an svg in a folder and paste it directly on the artboard. This saves you alot of time. Thanks once again
Hi Rene! As part of this work, we added the ability to copy an SVG from Finder and paste it directly in to Studio!
I just checked and it doesnt work....I have a mac book pro (latest). ALso i checked invision version and it is up to date.
Hi Rene!
I'm sorry to hear that you're still running into trouble copying your SVG in to Studio. I'd like to have our Support team take a closer look here. Please keep a lookout for an email from the team.
Thanks,
Rashad
Hello all,
Thanks again for providing extensive feedback for our Studio team as they worked to resolve the issues with SVGs. We hope that you are now having a much smoother experience with importing SVGs since Stephanie's update.
To further provide clarity on SVGs for everyone, our documentation team has put together this handy help article. Check it out here: Studio compatibility with imported SVG files.
Please note that this the information provided in this article applied to all SVGs, not just symbols, imported from anywhere. If you continue to run into issues or have any follow up questions, please let us know.
Have a great day!
