Personality Test (with links to free tests!)

I was recently hired at a company that had me take four personality tests after I was hired. I took the MBTI, DISC, Enneagram, Culture Pulse, and will be taking Strengths Finder 2.0 soon. I also independently took Adobe's Creative Types test.

My results, respectively, were ENFJ (Executive), DC (Implementor), 8 (The Challenger), and from Creative Types I was the Innovator. Culture Pulse has too many results to list!

I am overwhelming a leader, for better or worse. With focus, I'm enthusiastic, persuasive, and inspiring. Vulnerable moment... unchecked and unaware, I'm rigid, too process driven, and don't consider others' feelings. None of this is news to me (I used to work in a reflection-heavy academic setting) but it has me thinking about tech and design. Are there common personalities and how does that affect roles, influence, and happiness?

Have you taken personality test? How do you think your result compare to what you think of yourself? How has your personality affected your career and working relationships?

Hi Caitlin

I am a massive supporter of personality tests. Not just for me but for the people I work with. During my time as a Studio Manager and Design Lead, I would have the team voluntarily take part in a personality test. This helped the team members massively in how to work and understand each other.

I used MBTI before so my personality is the PROTAGONIST

"Everything you do right now ripples outward and affects everyone. Your posture can shine your heart or transmit anxiety. Your breath can radiate love or muddy the room in depression. Your glance can awaken joy. Your words can inspire freedom. Your every act can open hearts and minds." - DAVID DEIDA

Protagonists are natural-born leaders, full of passion and charisma. Forming around two percent of the population, they are oftentimes our politicians, our coaches and our teachers, reaching out and inspiring others to achieve and to do good in the world. With a natural confidence that begets influence, Protagonists take a great deal of pride and joy in guiding others to work together to improve themselves and their community.

That's me :)

I will most definitely take the others you suggested and give feedback. Thanks for this thread :)

I'm going through it with these personality tests, I find them absolutely intriguing! I have notoriously been an INTJ (Architect) and it definitely has its pros and cons in work environments.

Although highly creative/strategic I can fall into traps where I need valid data to support change in structure - and typically hate highly structured environments. Basically, I could never work in corporate and seek a level of harmony anywhere (that could also be because I'm a Libra).

I'm a massive introvert and think the change I've made in the last year of working remote has tremendously helped me design my own schedule and boosted mental health.

Being cognizant of the reality of my strengths and weaknesses has been so helpful in understanding how I work and live. Instead of combating them, and wishing I had different traits, it's ultimately brought a sense of peace and power to what I choose to do.

The rest of my personality results are:

  • Influence, Dominance, Compliance, Steadiness
  • Enneagram 4
  • Creative Type is The Dreamer
