ZIp generated prototype for offline preview doesn't open on Windows OS

Maybe someone know why generated for offline preview prototype doesn't work on Windows OS? On OS X it work fine, I just unzip it and open index.html. - everything works properly. Didn't find any solutions on forums, just couple topics without answer.

Thanks for help.

p.s It's not personal issue, receive the same feedback from couple people.

Hi, Shaina,

1. Offline prototype was tested on Windows 7 x64 and Windows 10 x64, on last versions of Chrome, Opera & Tor browsers.

2. Will provide screens today evening.

3. Project was made in Sketch, screens were sync via Craft plugin.

4. Will test another prototypes today evening.

5. Here is one topic with exactly the same issue as I can see

Thank's for help!

Additionally, will you please provide your Sketch, Craft Manager, and Craft Sync + Prototype versions in your reply?

Good morning, Shaina!

Last updates to the prototype were 3-4 month ago - Sketch version 52.5 and last up to date version of Craft plugin for that time period.

I test another prototype and it also doesn't work properly on Windows OS. Here are couple screens, sorry for blurred screen names.

Hi there!

Our windows users had the same problems using the prototypes after downloading them. We discovered two problems:

1) All assets with pipes ("|") in the name are not loaded:

Example:
  Works: "thumb_Active.png"
  Won't work: "thumb_Active | SM.png"

Solution: Don't use the pipe symbol in the project.

2) We also experienced problems that such files with pipes in the filename are not extracted when you use the built-in export functionality of Windows. They are extracted properly (but not loading because of the pipe) when you extract them via 7-Zip or other tools.

Solution: Make sure that all files are unpacked. You can check the missing files in the Browser's developer console and compare it to the content in the folders. Alternatively, try another tool to unzip the archive.

@Invision: I suggest that you implement this into your Export-routine, to consider non-supported or problematic chars for windows systems and simply replacing them with eg "-" or another placeholder.

Best, Timo

Hi, Shaina!

Have tested two prototypes with pipes in artboard (asset) names and without them. Yes, problem is in that symbol "|"

Sincerely, Nick

Hi, Shaina
I just need to know if you going to fix this issue or not. Because it's quite hard and time consuming to fix asset names from my side (or by other people that will have the same problem).

sincerely, Nick
