Blurred images / Overlays (Potential feature request)

Hi guys,

Can anyone confirm if Studio supports blurring images or elements (perfect for blurring the background content when using popups/overlays)?

Thanks!

Hi Juan,

I apologize, but it is not currently possible to blur images in Studio. We are, however, tracking interest for this exact feature.

I will open a ticket on your behalf to track your feedback to allow for different blur options in Studio, including blurring background images and objects. Please keep an eye out for an email confirming that we've formally tracked your interest for this.

If anybody else would like to add their feedback about this potential feature, please fill out a ticket with Support here detailing the feature you are looking for.

Have a wonderful day,

Shaina

Hi Juan,

you could use the app "Studiogram" from the studio app store. With this app you can easily blur your images inside of your studio.

Greeting,

Mark

Hi, invision. I am Elya and I am your adherent, but also a new user of invision, invision studio app. I was talking about lack of gif animation in preview mode in invision studio, and suddenly, some time later, i discovered, that this app doesn't have blur for images. I didn't believe, was searching for plugins or for wonder, because as for me your product is near to be the perfect as a design tool for nowadays, but i didn't find that option. You know, i am just a not bad designer, that really understand what is going on in design industry and in marketing, but i really don't understand, how is it happening, that there is such a strange limitations for the best design/development company, that has made the best program for UI prototyping, the best stylish, with the customisable animation tool, to make opportunities being understood as a designer for developers, and besides as quick as it possible. And when the fluent design and material design and other eclecticism is a trend today, (for example in Apple's IOS, windows 11 e.t.c.), there is no blur effect in you program. It is frosted glass effect (or matt plastic), that must be transparent sometimes, compared to other materials, like paper or metal, which are not. Noise effect also would be great to add in program, for example to make not just the frosted glass effect, but also paper, that just the color with noise, but it isn't so important, than blur). Even in Figma, there is opportunities to do blur, but i am sure, you are the further one. So, please, raise this question as very competitive for your product, because the most of advanced designers works with this functions. Using "Craft" with "Sketch" is the "yesterday", when there is all-sufficient product Invision Sudio - "today", product specially made for prototyping UI. So, this is a strange deal. You should be stronger, because you can go further, than the Sketch with there anima. And who is that guy with that quote (photo) ?))

Thanks for providing that detailed feedback about the need for blur in Studio, Elya. I'm really sorry to hear about the frustration that the lack of this feature is causing for you and your team.

We’re constantly working on improvements, and we greatly value opinions like yours. Part of my job is to take important threads from Community to meetings with relevant Product Managers to discuss the struggles our customers are having. I will be sure to raise your concerns and request in my next meeting with this Product Manager.

I’m also opening a ticket on your behalf so that you can stay up to date on the status of your feature requests for blur and noise effects in Studio. Please look for a message confirming that we've formally tracked your feedback about this soon.

If there's anything else we can do for you in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out. We strive to deliver the best design tool out there and appreciate hearing from customers like you about these sorts of issues.

Thanks for hanging in there,

Shaina

I have tried to use Studiogram to blur my image in Studio and I do not see that option.

Hi Brenna,

The option to blur images using Studiogram should be available near the bottom of the Adjust tab as shown below:

Please let me know if you're not seeing this option. If this is not showing up for you, can you please provide a screenshot of what you're seeing, and the version of Studio that you're running?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

I do not see that option. It looks like I'm running version 1.22.3

Hi Brenna,

The option to blur appears at the very bottom of the Studiogram window. You will need to scroll past the options that you've shown in your screenshot.

However, I noticed from your other thread that you're having issues with scrolling in Studio. This is probably why you're unable to view these options. Let's get to the bottom of the scroll issue, then we should be able to resolve this issue as well.

Thanks for hanging in there,

Shaina
