Hotspot on Fixed Footer not Working in Android App

Hi,

I'm using the InVision Android app to run the prototype. I find that when I add hotspots in fixed footers, none of them work.

To illustrate: in the following screen, the hotspot inside the fixed footer on the button that says "click me" never works on Android (i.e. it doesn't take me to the next screen). On the browser it all works fine. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Hi Tobias

Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the InVision prototyping tool.

Can I ask, what Android device are you using to showcase the prototype on? What is the Android OS version on the device in question?

Also, have you tried your prototype on another Android devices? Does it have the same issue?

Hi!

It's a Pixel 2 running Android 9 - I've tried it on a Pixel 2 with Android 8, but it has the same issue.

     2. Does this issue happen with all prototypes, or just this one in particular?
     3. Could you provide a screenshot showing the differences between the hotspot in the fixed footer on the mobile app vs. the browser?

Hi,

Any update on this? I’m having the same problem (only on Android). Any hotspots within a fixed footer are misaligned to the screen.

I’ve tried this with a Pixel 3 and Nexus 5X, both running latest Android and Invision app.

I also tested with hotspots created with Craft and on the web - same problem.

Q: What version number of the InVision Android mobile app are you running?
A: Not 100% sure where to find this, but I'm guessing it's build 2.6.8.178

Q: Could you provide a screenshot showing an affected screen on your browser?
A: My browser is not affected.  But here is a screen shot from the edit mode if that's what you're after?


Q: What version of mobile OS (e.g. Android 9.0) are you on?
A: Android v9

Q: Does this issue happen with all prototypes, or just this one in particular?
A: This is my only prototype.  It seems to work ok for the bottom nav tabs, which are template links. But not for these ones.


Q: Could you provide a screenshot showing the differences between the fixed header on the mobile app and the browser?
A: They look the same.  The footer fixes in place. But the links don't work.  And when you tap away from a link to show where the links should be, the ones for the fixed footer do not flash.  Perhaps they're behind the fixed footer?


Q: Could you send a screenshot showing the fixed header for an affected screen in Build mode?
A: I don't have any fixed headers right now


Q: Could you uninstall/reinstall the app to see if the issue with the hotspots persists?
A: I will come back to you on this one in a follow up comment

The boxes in the screen shot above are just redacting some information.  They are not part of the screen shot.  So the blue hotspot is not under any design elements.

I'm having the same issue and it's highly frustrating that the Android version of InVision is not given more priority. The hotspot seems to be behind the fixed footer and this hampers any prototyping we can demo.

  1. What version number of the InVision Android mobile app are you running?

Build no. 2.7.2.182-574

2. Could you provide a screenshot showing an affected screen on your browser?

Browser works fine, it's the Android app that's the issue.

3. What version of mobile OS (e.g. Android 9.0) are you on?

Android 9 (Pixel 3A XL/One plus 6)

4. Does this issue happen with all prototypes, or just this one in particular?

All prototypes with a fixed footer and a hotspot

5. Could you uninstall/reinstall the app to see if the issue with the hotspots persists?

No change after reinstalling

6. What version of Craft Manager are you running? 

Version 1.0.85

7. What version of the Craft Sync + Prototype plugin are you running?

Not sure.

Other prototype tools like Marvel don't have this problem with the same flow. Please get this fixed as soon as possible.

Hi Shaina,

I have having the same problem also on the Android app.

I am on Android 9, One plus 6. I have the latest of everything, both craft and the mobile app.

Please help fix as it is messing with user tests.

  5. Could you provide a screenshot showing the differences between the fixed header on the mobile app and the browser? ? the clicks doesn't work when are is selected as fixed on mobile. They work if fixed header/footer is removed.
  6. Could you send a screenshot showing the fixed header for an affected screen in Build mode?

Hello! I am having the same issue as mentioned above. Please note autoscale / fit to device does not fix the issue. Here are my specs:

1. What version number of the InVision Android mobile app are you running?

Build no. 2.8.1.185-9da7d34b

2. Could you provide a screenshot showing an affected screen on your browser?

Browser works fine, it's the Android app that's the issue.

3. What version of mobile OS (e.g. Android 9.0) are you on?

Android 9 (moto g6)

4. Does this issue happen with all prototypes, or just this one in particular?

I've tested it on two different prototypes (one with android preset, other with iphone preset)

5. Could you uninstall/reinstall the app to see if the issue with the hotspots persists?

The issue was not fixed.

6. What version of Craft Manager are you running? 

unknown

7. What version of the Craft Sync + Prototype plugin are you running?

unknown

Having the same issue here. Any progress on this? I submitted my own ticket. It's doing the same thing on multiple Android devices, running different versions of the OS.

Yes, the problem is only on the android invision app. Look the place of the "blue hint hotspot" when I click on the invision prototype with my "google pixel 1".

  1. Does the hotspot work in the InVision Cloud webapp?

Yes that work on inVision Cloud webapp (no issue on that, just on android invision app).

 

Do you have any idea of what is the problem?
