Craft duplicate do not make random TEXT contents.


Craft duplicate do not make random text contents.

Creating a random image works well. Text content does not work.


I've left a question like link in the past and it's been resolved with your kind feedback.

However, when I used it yesterday, a random image was created, but no random text was created. I hope to solve it.

Is it the default behavior that random content is not created when I copy layers or text (using craft random "Data") with the "option" key and mouse? (Without using the craft "Duplicate" feature)

A random image is created using the duplicate function.

However, when I copy it with 'opt key' + mouse or copy it with cmd + c, cmd + v, random image can not be generated.

I wonder if this is a default feature and it is also a bug related to my issue.

UPDATE 3/8/19

Firstly, we would like to apologize for the time it's taken for us to fix this. However, we're glad to update that our engineers have notified us that this should no longer be an issue. Text fields containing Data values inside of symbols should now display different values when duplicated. If you haven't done so already, please update to the latest version of the Craft Manager and update your plugins to receive this fix.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Definitely let us know if you're still having issues after the update.

Our apologies again for the troubles here. After doing some additional testing with this, our team has found that this issue is still persisting. What's going on is the default categories that appear in Data are still affected by this issue. However, if you have custom categories, this issue does not affect those.

I am happy to open a new ticket on your behalf so that our Support team can gather all necessary details from you, and keep you in the loop on this issue.

Hey, kinda random but I encountered this exact same issue with duplication text and wrote a quick work-around for it in the meantime. Hopefully this helps!
