Import from XD

Is there any way I can import XD files into InVision?

Or is the feature being built? Would be of great help if this feature is brought in.

Hi Vinaykumar,

At the moment, there's not yet a Craft plugin suite available for XD, nor a way to import XD files into Studio. That said, both of these potential features are  on our Product Team's radar.

Can you please clarify if you are looking to import XD files using Craft Sync, or if you are looking to import XD files into Studio? Once I have this information, I will be happy to open a ticket on your behalf to track your vote for the desired functionality.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hey Shaina.
I'm looking for a way to import XD files into studio. I have a mock-up in XD, but the prototyping in XD isn't as good as in Studio. So is there any way I can get this import?

Hi Mohammad,

Sorry to hear that Sketch files aren't opening properly for you in Studio. In order to determine what might be causing this, can you please provide some additional information?:

  1. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview or other OS details
  2. The version of Studio that you're running
  3. The version of Sketch that your Sketch file came from
  4. A screencast or screenshot(s) displaying the issues you're seeing when attempting to open your Sketch file in Studio
  5. A screenshot of any error messages you might be receiving

Once we've received this information, we will be able to help figure out the root of this issue that you're encountering.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Just want to add to the voice for this feature! I'm currently, and begrudgingly switching my workflow to use Zeplin for easier use with XD but I'd honestly rather use inVision. Please, please it would be great if you guys came up with an XD workflow solution as well.

It would be in InVision's best interests to make it possible and seamless to open Xd files in Studio, as a lot of people would want to switch to Studio and not have to worry about the lack of support for Xd files. I, for one, downloaded Studio a few days ago, and I'm looking to switch permanently. This would be a win-win, for everyone involved.

Hi Emil,

Thanks for reaching out on our Community. I understand how frustrating it is to wait for a feature to be released. The Product and Engineering teams prioritize issues based on their scope and impact. For that reason, we are unable to provide an ETA at this time.

The Studio Engineering, Product, and Design teams have been hard at work building a brand new release of Studio. We’re evolving Studio for the long term focusing on improving performance, usability, and how you collaborate within your teams. The investments we are making today will also enable us to respond to your needs more quickly in the future.

Part of my job is to take important threads from Community to meetings with relevant Product Managers to discuss the struggles our customers are having. I will be sure to raise your concerns and request in my next meeting with this Product team. I’m also opening a ticket on your behalf to track your interest for this potential feature. Please look out for an email confirming that we've tracked this for you.

Thanks for your understanding,

Shaina

I'm just wondering has the InVision product team taken any polls or surveys regarding XD capabilities to their users regarding this issue which I also voted for over a year ago? My team and a a large chunk of our clients have had to leave InVision because many people are switching from Sketch to XD since many of us use the Adobe Suite. I really wanted to switch back to InVision but as it appears, this isn't a priority and so we've had to make due with multiple different solutions to accommodate our choice for design/UX tools.

Really need a plugin to import XD files in to InVision. I work for a FTSE 10 company and most of our clients use XD, I really need a two-way connector to get content from one to the other so my team have all bases covered> its getting to the point where we will have to drop InVision.

This thread has been running for over a year and I find it hard to believe there's been no progress, that in itself is worrying

Thanks for the feedback, Damion!

We'll be sure to pass on your thoughts to our Product team, who are currently still monitoring user interest in introducing support for Adobe XD.

To that end, I'll add your vote towards implementing this feature.

Best,

Camille

You can now convert XD files to Sketch and those can then be imported in Invision. You can do that using this site: xd2sketch.com

Our internal design team is finally making the move from Photoshop to XD, but we heavily rely on the Craft plug-in to upload our prototypes to InVision, so our cross-functional teams can review. Adobe has heavily invested in XD and is dedicated to pushing it toward being an industry-standard tool. We will be transitioning our workflow over the next couple of months and it would make things so much easier to upload directly to InVision from XD, as you can from Sketch or Photoshop (using Craft). XD has a web tool that we can use for reviews, but since our organization is familiar and uses InVision already, we would like to stick with it. Is there any update on the possibility of this happening?
