Craft and Invision not syncing

Is anyone else experiencing the issue where you upload through the Craft Plugin and the screen doesn't reflect that update in your InVision project?

I've tried refreshing, logging out and exporting via Craft plugin again and it does not get resolved.

Hi Ellen,

Sorry to hear that you're running into issues with syncing your project using Craft. To determine what may be causing this issue, can you please provide the following information?:

     1. What version of Craft Manager are you running?
     2. What version of the Craft Sync + Prototype plugin are you running?
     3. Can you please provide a screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview, or you operating system details?
     4. What version of Sketch or Photoshop are you using?
     5. Can you please provide a screenshot of the issues you're seeing?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Ellen,

Thank you very much for providing those details, and I apologize for any frustration that this is causing for you. Given the fact that you are running the most up-to-date versions of all software, I'd like to go ahead and have you perform a comprehensive, deep uninstall/reinstall of Craft using the steps below. Please skip any steps that are not applicable (e.g. if a file/folder mentioned is not present) and let me know if you get stuck anywhere along the way:

  1. Close Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Close).
  2. Go into Sketch, and navigate to Plugins ➝ Manage Plugins.
  3. In the pop-up modal, select Craft by InVision Labs, and click the gear icon in the lower left and select the uninstall option. This will move some items to the trash.
  4. Quit Sketch entirely.
  5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels (if applicable) processes.
  6. Open Spotlight and search for ~/Library/Application Support/
  7. Delete the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder, the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager.json file, the com.invisionlabs.CraftInstaller folder, and the CraftManager folder.
  8. Open the com.bohemiancoding.sketch3 folder.
  9. Delete the Panels folder (if applicable). Please note that these steps will remove any custom Type or Photos items you’ve created in Craft Data. If you'd like to preserve those, please go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings and back up the file "com.invisionlabs.data."
  10. Open the Plugins folder.
  11. Delete the Panels.sketchplugin file (if applicable).
  12. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
  13. Search for craftinstaller and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
  14. In Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.
  15. Empty the Trash.
  16. Go to https://craft-assets.invisionapp.com/CraftManager/production/CraftManager.zip and unzip the CraftManager
  17. Drag and drop the Craft Manager app into your computer's "Applications" folder or the folder of your choice before launching it.
  18. Open Craft Manager and then install Craft for Sketch.
  19. If you had backed up the "com.invisionlabs.data" file before performing these steps: launch Sketch now in order to rebuild the ` ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings ` directory. Then, place the backed up "com.invisionlabs.data" file in the ".settings" folder and restart Sketch to restore your custom Type & Photos items.

After running through these steps, would you mind testing to see if you continue to have the same issue?

I look forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

I'm having the same issue again. Am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall Craft Manager/Plugin every day to fix this issue?

Hi Ellen,

Oh no! That's odd. Can you please walk me through anything that you have done with Craft between when it was working yesterday, and now encountering this issue again today?

We may need to get you in touch with our Support team to do some further troubleshooting in order to determine what might be causing this behavior.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Shaina,

The first time I upload a Sketch artboard in the beginning of a session, it successfully loads. The second time nothing happens when I click the upload button (the progress wheel screen never appears), but the timestamp updates to say it was updated XX seconds ago. However, when I go to InVision, the screen has not updated.

I'm only able to successfully upload if I restart my computer each time I want to upload a new screen to InVision.

I'm having the exact same issue. I followed the steps by re installing craft, and it worked the first time I uploaded again but not subsequent times.

Hi Whitney,

Sorry to hear that you're also running into issues with syncing, and I appreciate you providing those version numbers. Can you please confirm the following as well?:

     1. Are new artboards synced showing correctly online?  Is it only the edited/updated artboards once re-synced from Sketch that don't appear updated online? Is this correct
     2. From your browser can you try logging out then back into an incognito window or another browser online to see if the updated artboards show correctly there?
     3. Are you running into this same issue when syncing any other files or is this specific to one?

Once I have these details, we can dig deeper to help get this sorted.

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi,

I'm having the same issue here - in the toggle menu on sketch it appears my last sync is "Last updated 2 minute ago". When I navigate to the system menu it says "Last update December 20". Also when I switch to the web view its last update was a month ago. I have also tried in incognito - no luck there.

This only occurred, when I updated Craft and Sketch versions a couple of days ago.

Would you be able to roll back/ investigate the versions together as one of the updates has corrupted this functionality.

Application details below.

Mac: Version 10.13.6

Craft : 1.0.74

Sketch: 52.6

Thanks!

Hi Brittini,

I'm also having the same problem, can you please help?

Yesterday I was able to make changes to my sketch document then normally sync my selected artboards via craft to invision. Today, when I try to sync my new artboards it gives me a red text warning saying 'alreadyUploading' with the capital U and no space, just like that. It conveniently disappears as I try to screenshot it. I've tested syncing using a brand new artboard for the first time but still get the same error message 'alreadyUploading'.

Craft then says the prototype has been updated just a few mins ago but it's lying and the screens are getting lost between sketch and invision.

I've quit sketch, reopened it. Uninstalled craft, reinstalled it. Artboards aren't showing in invision in incognito either. Still having the same problems. What should I try next?

macOS High Sierra: Version 10.13.6

Sketch: Version 61.2

Craft: Version 1.0.91

Hope you can help!

Thanks,

Jess

Hi Jess,

Sorry to see that you're also running into issues with syncing your Sketch prototype using the latest versions of Craft and Sketch. Thanks for taking the time to provide all of the details and screenshots that you have above.

We sometimes see odd behavior when the browser's local files associated with InVision become outdated or corrupted. To further troubleshoot this issue, please first sign in to InVision via an incognito or private browsing window.

If you are able to access your updated screens in an incognito session, we can confirm you’ll need to clear that data (cache and cookies) from your browser. For help doing that, please see Clearing your browser's cache and cookies for more detail. Once cleared as per the above instructions, please restart your browser and attempt to perform the InVision action again. If you're still having trouble after that, please do let us know.

If you still have trouble in an incognito browser, please let us know and we can investigate further.

Cheers,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

Thanks for your help and quick reply! I tried in incognito and it still wasn't working so I cleared my cache but was still having the same problem.

Then I tried publishing to a new project and it seemed to have refreshed everything, now I can publish to the old project like normal.

Thanks again for your help.

UPDATE

We're happy to announce that our Engineers were able to get an issue wherein hotspots would fail to sync if you had the Anima Toolkit plugin enabled. This is fixed in the latest Craft Manager update and you should not expect to encounter it any longer. When you have a moment, please make sure you're updated to Craft Manager 1.0.92 and give it another test. You should find that hotspots will still sync even if the Anima plugin is enabled in Sketch.

Thank you for your patience while our team worked on sorting this out. We want to make sure everything is fully working as intended now, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or lingering issues with this. We're here to help!

Hi, I have the same problem from Friday 16 April.

I make changes in Invision file, open craft, select relevant prototype, press Publish. Nothing changes in InVision though it says that pages were updated minute ago. It seems that Craft doesn't work or it works but InVision doesn't reflects the changes.
I already deleted and reuploaded, reinstalled Craft, opened InVision in incognito window, still doesn't work.

Versions: Craft 1.0.110.    Sketch v. 71.2.     mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

Thanks Camille,

I already found my problem. It was all about the size of my sketch files. My artboards were so long (up to 27000px) that InVision could't display them.
Thank you for your assistance.
