[INVISION STUDIO] Toolbar missing from some of my files

Hi!

I feel like I pressed some combination of hotkeys that suddenly hid my toolbar. I can't seem to find how to activate it again.
If i create a new file it's there, so it's specifically for some of my files - even if i restart studio / my system.
Tried looking through the help center, but to no avail. Here's an image of how it looks.

Hi Mads,

Sorry to hear that you've lost your toolbar. So we can help you more thoroughly, can you please provide the following information?:

1. The version of Studio you're currently running.
3. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview.

Thanks so much and looking forward to hearing back,

Kayden

I've tried on both my office iMac and my home Macbook Pro, and the issue seems to be on both systems, on the same files.
Here's a screenshot from my Macbook Pro.

Hi Mads,

Sorry to hear that you're running into these issues with Studio. I appreciate you providing the details you have above! This certainly helps determine what might be going wrong here.

As a first step, can you please update to the latest version of Studio? It appears as if you are running a much older version. If you are still encountering issues after updating to the latest version of Studio, please provide a screenshot of these issues in your response.

Something else to note is that while we strive to support as many systems as possible for our products, we do have certain system requirements. In order to use Studio, we support specific graphics cards at this time as mentioned in our Help Article, "What are the system requirements for Studio?":

To ensure optimal performance, you will want to use Studio on a computer with graphics cards that meet these specifications:

- Intel HD Graphics 5000 and above (found in certain MacBook Air models as early as Mid 2013 and in certain iMac and Mac mini models in 2014)
- Nvidia GeForce GT 650M and above (found in certain MacBook Pro and iMac models as early as Mid 2012)
- ATI Radeon HD 4850 and above (found in certain iMac models early as 2009)

After reviewing your “About this Mac” overview, I see that you are currently using a computer with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics card. Our Engineering team is aware of a few issues with Studio on computers with Intel HD Graphics 4000. They are working hard to find a solution to these issues.

Thanks,

Shaina

Thank you Shaina.
I understand that my older systems might be the issue, but i find it very strange that it does not affect all my files .Also, that it affects across different computers. In addition, I've kept my studio up to date on my work computer, which was the one the issue first appeared on. I sent the file to my Macbook Pro to see if the issue still persisted, and it did.
Here's a screenshot from my office work computer - while also still a bit old, the toolbar works just fine on my other files.

Hi Mads,

Thank you for providing those additional details from your office work computer. Unfortunately, it appears as if this computer doesn't meet the system requirements for Studio as well.

However, since you are seeing these issues with some files and not others, I would like for our Support team to do some further troubleshooting and will be opening a ticket on your behalf. Please look for a message from our Support team soon.

Thanks again for reporting this, and I hope to get you some answers as our Support team dives deeper into this.

Have a great day!

Shaina

i got the same problem. from one VERY important file with i gues 50 artboards : the toolbar is now missing.

icannot bring it back by

  • saving a new file
  • restarting invision
  • switching on/off anything in the VIEW-menu.

when i reopen the file the toolbar (andr rulers) appear for 1 second and disappear again.

WHER IS THE BUTTON to switch it on again ¿?!!?¿

inv-version 1.20.0 / mac os high sierra 10.13.6 (not modifiable) / the mac is a mac pro mid 2010 with ATI radeon 5770 1024mb and 32gb RAM

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that you're also running into this issue. After working with our Support team, Mads was able to discover that they accidentally pressed the Presentation Mode, and then enabled the Inspector and Layer list with SHIFT + CMD + 1 and SHIFT + CMD + 2. This what was hiding it for them.

Please let me know if this helps solves things for you. Otherwise, I'm happy to open a ticket so that our Support team can troubleshoot further with you.

Look forward to hearing back,

Shaina

THIS did NOT solve the problem.

what brought the toolbar back, was CMD + ALT + . (dot)

unfortunately you are not able to find this command in the menu or anywhere else. it definitely should be implemented to the view menu !! SOON !

we accidently found it ...

I ran into this same issue this morning and what solved it for me was pressing SHIFT + CMD + . (dot) twice.

Same for me,  when i reopen the file the toolbar (and rulers) appear for 1 second and disappear again.

Other files still works perfectly fine.

SHIFT + CMD + . (dot) twice Sadly doesn't work.

Shame that doesn't work for your Lisa. Have you tried making a new InVision Studio document and copying/pasting all your artboards from one to the other?

Not that I'm certain it will work for you Lisa, but have you tried upgrading to macOS Catalina?
