Craft sync with InVision - doesn't allow for syncing one file with multiple prototypes

Hello :)

I've been using Craft sync feature and recently I noticed that I am no longer sable to have both Desktop and mobile screens in one Sketch file, as it does not allow me to sync them to different prototype in inVision (one if made on mobile template and the other on Desktop). There is a field of choosing a prototype but it only shows me one option. But when creating new sketch file I see there all my prototypes. When I select one and sync something, then it gets blocked and again I cannot choose a different one anymore. it's very annoying as would mean I need to always create separate files for different prototypes. Is it a bug? Cn you solve it? or am I the only person that keeps all breakpoint designs in one Sketch file?

    Hi Mira,

Sorry to hear that you're running into issues with Craft Sync. So that I can better understand what might be causing these issues, can you please provide the following information?:

         1. What version of Craft Manager are you running?
         2. What version of the Craft Sync + Prototype plugin are you running?
         3. Can you please include a screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview?
         4. What version of Sketch are you using?
         5. Can you please provide a screencast or screenshot(s) displaying the issue(s) you are encountering?
         6. Did this just start happening recently with a specific file, or has this always been an issue for you?

Look forward to hearing from you and getting you some answers.

    Best,

    Shaina

    Hi Shaina,

    1. What version of Craft Manager are you running? - 1.0.72 (122)
         2. What version of the Craft Sync + Prototype plugin are you running?  - 2.3.90
         3. Can you please include a screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview?
         4. What version of Sketch are you using? - 52.2
         5. Can you please provide a screencast or screenshot(s) displaying the issue(s) you are encountering? - Below - one screenshot from a new file, where when exportind for the first time I can choose from all the prototypes in inVision, second from a file where export was already made - shows me only one prototype in inVision.
         6. Did this just start happening recently with a specific file, or has this always been an issue for you? - Just now, I think after recent updates of both Sketch and Craft. before worked fine.

    Hi Mira,

Thanks for all of that information! As a next step, I'd like to have you perform a comprehensive, deep uninstall/reinstall of Craft using the steps below. Please skip any steps that are not applicable (e.g. if a file/folder mentioned is not present) and let me know if you get stuck anywhere along the way:

    1. Close Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Close).
    2. Go into Sketch, and navigate to Plugins ➝ Manage Plugins.
    3. In the pop-up modal, select Craft by InVision Labs, and click the gear icon in the lower left and select the uninstall option. This will move some items to the trash.
    4. Quit Sketch entirely.
    5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels (if applicable) processes.
    6. Open Spotlight and search for ~/Library/Application Support/
    7. Delete the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder, the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager.json file, the com.invisionlabs.CraftInstaller folder, and the CraftManager folder.
    8. Open the com.bohemiancoding.sketch3 folder.
    9. Delete the Panels folder (if applicable). Please note that these steps will remove any custom Type or Photos items you’ve created in Craft Data. If you'd like to preserve those, please go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings and back up the file "com.invisionlabs.data."
    10. Open the Plugins folder.
    11. Delete the Panels.sketchplugin file (if applicable).
    12. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
    13. Search for craftinstaller and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
    14. In Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.
    15. Empty the Trash.
    16. Go to https://craft-assets.invisionapp.com/CraftManager/production/CraftManager.zip and unzip the CraftManager
    17. Drag and drop the Craft Manager app into your computer's "Applications" folder or the folder of your choice before launching it.
    18. Open Craft Manager and then install Craft for Sketch.
    19. If you had backed up the "com.invisionlabs.data" file before performing these steps: launch Sketch now in order to rebuild the ` ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings ` directory. Then, place the backed up "com.invisionlabs.data" file in the ".settings" folder and restart Sketch to restore your custom Type & Photos items.

Once reinstalled, could you please attempt this again and let me know if you continue to encounter this issue?

    Thanks,

    Shaina

    Hi Shaina,

I did all the steps - then when opened the sketch file and exporting for the first time I could choose from all the prototypes, but afterwards only the chosen one is again vivble in the dropdown. So the problem remains.

I wanted to circle back to the issue in case anyone else reads this thread. You should be able to sync the same Sketch file to multiple prototypes with Craft Sync. Unfortunately, you cannot yet sync to multiple prototypes with a single click.

To change the prototype you sync your Artboard to:

    1. Click the Craft Sync icon in Sketch.
    2. In Craft Manager you'll see the prototype (last synced) listed. From here, select the X next to the prototype name. You'll now be able to search your list of prototypes or create a new prototype.

Based on the above description in Community, it sounds like the user would like to be able to sync a single Sketch file across multiple prototypes (such as mobile, desktop and tablet) with one click. That is a potential feature that our Product team is currently tracking. They're monitoring interest and reviewing whether we should add this functionality to our product.
