Deleting Prototypes

I have several versions of prototypes that I want to delete. I read the support note on this, but I do not get a Delete option in the More menu. I believe that is because, even though I created the project, I am not the "owner". I can't see who is the owner, but I presume it's the company IT person who set up the account. He of course has nothing to do with the design work.

How can I see who is the prototype owner is?

How can I get all my prototypes transferred to me?

And why, if I create a prototype, does it not belong to me? I can see my name at the top the screen when I create it, so why does it get "owned" by someone else?

Thanks, Charlie - UX Designer, Verge Health

Hi Charles,

Thanks so much for reaching out here in Community about this! As a Team member, the option to create new prototypes in the Team bucket is set by default. So yes, you’re correct- the prototypes you created are owned by the person who owns the Team plan. That person will need to log in and delete the prototype(s) you want to remove.

To see a prototype owner:
In order to view the prototype owner, simply open the prototype and in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, hover over the collaborators. The first person who shows up should be the owner and it will indicate next to their name that they are the owner. Please see the screenshot below:

To transfer prototypes from the Team bucket to your personal account, the person who owns the Team account will need to log in and follow the steps here:
1. Go to your prototype homepage.
2. Click the More button (next to Assets under your prototype name).
3. Select Transfer Ownership.
4. Enter the recipient's email address (Note: the recipient must have an active InVision account) and click Finish.

An email invite will be sent to the recipient which must be accepted. Upon accepting the invite ownership will be officially transferred. If the transferred prototype takes the recipient over quota they will need to upgrade their plan/delete other prototypes to access it.

Any existing share links will remain active after transferring the prototype to another consumer account.

To create projects in your personal account, you’ll need to select the account you’d like the prototype to be saved to on this screen of the prototype creation process:

Hope this helps! Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Have a great day,

Aha, this answer a recent support question I had. It used to be that I select the space before, then press the plus to create a new prototype and it will be created in that Team or Personal Space.

Now if I create a prototype, even if I am in the "My Projects" space it will be created in the Team Account by default. Just like Charles above, once you have created it, its impossible to even request ownership transfer. Now I need to hassle my boss, who has nothing to do with InVision to do these steps to transfer ownership and every time he says "wait, can't I make you an admin", "why don't we all have ownership if its a Team Account". Running out of compelling things to tell him other than.. "well, thats just the way it is apparently".

Please really rethink your user management. There are services which cost a lot less and have much more fine-grained support for user roles!

I am sure and hopeful that Enterprise Accounts have more control, but it would really have to be exceptional to justify the roughly 10x higher price of enterprise vs. team accounts.
