Craft sync ignoring symbol properties

When syncing my Sketch file to Invision, some symbol instances are no longer how they appear in Sketch, for example:

- an instance at different sizes is translated to Invision incorrectly

This issue makes it difficult to create pages for my prototype, because symbols behave in an unexpected way when syncing.

Hi Ricardo,

Sorry to see you are running into issues with your symbol properties not being respected after syncing.

In order to dig a little deeper would you mind providing me with a complete list of the Sketch Plugins you have installed? The easiest way to do this is to go to Plugins > Manage Plugins, and capture a screenshot. This could possibly be a few screenshots depending on how many you have installed.

In the meantime, if you are running the Anima plugin, can you also try to first disable the Anima plugin, then completely quit out of sketch using the 'Activity Monitor'? After that re-open Sketch and try syncing again to see if the issue persists.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina, thank you for your swift reply.

Disabling Anima does fix the problem when syncing, meaning that my symbols now appear as they should in my Invision prototype. Unfortunately, this also means that I loose the ability to override symbols in Sketch in a way that satisfies those symbols requirements. So I suppose this is an issue on Anima's features not syncing properly by Craft?

This is my list of installed plugins:

Thank you,
Ricardo

Hi Ricardo,

I am so happy to hear that worked for you!

This confirms that this is related to a known issue that our Engineering team is currently investigating. The trouble occurs when exporting assets created with Anima's plugins.

Our engineers are working with Anima's team to find a permanent solution. However, until we know more the best path forward is to create your designs and then disable Anima. After Anima is disabled your items should sync as expected. Once the sync is complete you can re-enable Anima to continue working in Sketch.

I will open a ticket on your behalf linked to this issue so that once we have an update from the engineers, we'll reach out and let you know. Thanks again for your help looking into this and please let me know if you have any other questions in the interim.

Have a great day,

Shaina

Ricardo, thanks for posting this issue!

Shaina, thanks for providing the solution!

This has been driving me crazy and forcing me to save designs as flat images.

I look forward to the collaborative fix with Anima!
