Scrollable overlay to desktop prototype

Hi,

I'm working on a desktop prototype which has a scrollable list of items which appears as an overlay.

I am trying to create a prototype for it using invision and cannot find a way to prototype it as a scrollable overlay.

Any suggestions?

tThanks! :)

Hi Asaf,

Are you trying to view the scrollable prototype on a mobile device? I think we need a bit more detail to see if we can help on this.

Thanks!

Hi,

No, I am viewing the prototype on my PC chrome browser.

My prototype is for a desktop device and it contains an overlay list which can scroll. I wish to include this scrolling of this list within the prototype.

It looks like this:

I must agree, having scrollable overlays would help tremendously.

Some have a lot of content thats taller than the browser window.

I have overlays that are accessed from multiple sections, not just one, so adding the page it's called from is misleading.

This would be super useful. Trying to create a prototype for navigation at the moment and I can't scroll so looking at another tool to try and fix this.

Hi,

We also wrote to customer support to "have a vote". just wanted to add it here too.  It is important. Lot's of products have a need for scrollable overlays. We are doing something similar to airtable.com. Kind of hard to workaround this.

Cheers

Hi Rachael,

I can assure you, however, that our team is continuing to track this feature, and I am happy to add your feedback. Please look for an email confirming that we've tracked your interest for this feature.

Part of my job is to take important threads from Community to meetings with relevant Product Managers to discuss the struggles our customers are having. I will be sure to raise your concerns and request in my next meeting with this PM.

Scrolling in specific areas would be really useful. In desktop screens there are many use cases where you only want to apply scroll to a specific area and keep the rest of the content in the screen fixed.

Here is a great example of feature that does this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdQ_3XgTldE

It would be great to have this in order to create high fidelity prototypes...

Thanks

+1 on this.

Please implement this feature. It'd be really useful for certain prototypes where scrollable divs live.
