Invision deforms my symbols. What’s wrong with them?

Hello, guys!

I have some troubles with my symbols when I’m trying upload screens in Invision.

So, beneath you can see screenshot represents my mockup in Sketch.

I have these setting for Switchers and Text label accordingly through Anima panel

When I`m syncing my artboard to Invision, one little thing is breaking my brains.

Do you see it too? I am a little bit crazy about it.

What`s wrong with these guys?

Thank you.

UPDATE

I’m happy to report that InVision’s and Anima’s engineers have been working together and that this issue is fixed. We’ve tested here with the latest versions of Sketch and Anima and can confirm that this issue has been resolved.

Could you please update to the latest versions of Sketch and Anima, restart Sketch, re-sync your file and confirm that your symbols’ color overrides are applied?

Please give this a try and let us know if you're still having any problems. Otherwise, our sincere apologies for the delay and many thanks for your patience while our Engineering Team worked together with Anima’s to fix this issue.

Hi, Vika

I suspect this has something to do with the way you have response settings pinned in your anima panel. I'm only making a guess here. You can check this by exporting the images from the window in anima (all the states) to your local directory and see if it's trying to responsively resize those in the export. It may actually be an anima bug.

Hi,

I am having this exact same problem when syncing sketch artboards with invision using the latest craft plugin. It is very frustrating. The file I am using has worked perfectly in the past, but it appears to me that something has changed with an update which has caused this issue.

Hi Vika and Dean,

In this situation, can you try uninstalling and re-installing Craft to see if that improves things for you? You can do this by following these steps. Please skip any steps that are not applicable (e.g. if a file/folder mentioned is not present) and let me know if you get stuck anywhere along the way:

  1. Close Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Close).
  2. Go into Sketch, and navigate to Plugins ➝ Manage Plugins.
  3. In the pop-up modal, select Craft by InVision Labs, and click the gear iconin the lower left and select the uninstall option. This will move some items to the trash.
  4. Quit Sketch entirely.
  5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels (if applicable) processes.
  6. Open Spotlight and search for ~/Library/Application Support/
  7. Delete the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder, the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager.json file, the com.invisionlabs.CraftInstaller folder, and the CraftManager folder.
  8. Open the com.bohemiancoding.sketch3 folder.
  9. Delete the Panels folder (if applicable). Please note that these steps will remove any custom Type or Photos items you’ve created in Craft Data. If you'd like to preserve those, please go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings and back up the file "com.invisionlabs.data."
  10. Open the Plugins folder.
  11. Delete the Panels.sketchplugin file (if applicable).
  12. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
  13. Search for craftinstaller and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
  14. In Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.
  15. Empty the Trash.
  16. Go to https://craft-assets.invisionapp.com/CraftManager/production/CraftManager.zip and unzip the CraftManager
  17. Drag and drop the Craft Manager app into your computer's "Applications" folder or the folder of your choice before launching it.
  18. Open Craft Manager and then install Craft for Sketch.
  19. If you had backed up the "com.invisionlabs.data" file before performing these steps: launch Sketch now in order to rebuild the ` ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings ` directory. Then, place the backed up "com.invisionlabs.data" file in the ".settings" folder and restart Sketch to restore your custom Type & Photos items.

Just out of curiosity, if you sync the artboard at 1x, rather than at 2x, are you still seeing this issue? We have noticed that if the screen is relatively large, that is sometimes the cause.

Let me know if you continue to have issues after performing the troubleshooting above.

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi Shaina

I have followed the steps you gave to uninstall and reinstall craft, however, this has not solved my problem. With the updated version of the craft plugin i am still getting the exact same problem. Just out of interest i was exporting at 2x, but when I change that to 1x, all of my hotspots in my invasion project are out of sync with the prototype images, which would be a real headache to have to adjust.

Hi Troy,

Thanks for reaching out! A few troubleshooting questions for you:

     1. What version of Craft Manager are you on
     2. What version of Craft Sync are you on?
     3. Can you please provide screenshots showing the errors you're seeing, and of the issue you're running into?
     4. Can you confirm if you're using the Anima plug in on the elements you're having troubles with?

Look forward to hearing from you,

I have the same problem by syncing designs from sketch to invision and it always messes up with my symbols constrains... it's supper annoying as I can't let developers yous invision inspector I need to print designs like in old school way to give the guidelines to them. It's all happened when new craft update came in, and syncing now is outside from the sketch... and it's a weird bug, because original size symbols will sync good, but resized symbols will be deformed in a weird behaviour as is not to do that by how I set constrains on layers...

I'm having the same issue. It looks ok on sketch but when uploaded to Invision through the craft plugin. This happens with some library symbols which are resized.

Hello! Can I add my name to the list? It seems like a similar misalignment issue happens when the symbol is resized to be smaller than the original symbol. When resized bigger, everything remains aligned.

  1. Craft Manager 1.0.72
  2. Craft Sync + Prototype 2.3.90
  3. Not using Anima plugin
  4. The "Export" button below has been resized to width of 83px from the original symbol width of 125px. The text (e.g. "Export") has auto size and is pinned to the left edge, while the arrow icon has fixed size and is pinned to the right edge.

I've been struggling with the same issue and have noticed that the problems occur only with some symbols where I have a containing element set dynamic height and/or width to 100%. When I disable it, every thing is right as rain.
