Hi Qing,

In order to locate the newly installed Craft Manager plugin, can you please try going to your "Plugins" menu on your Sketch toolbar and click "Toggle Craft"? See below:

If this does not resolve the issue please let me know.

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

Thanks for your reply, but Toggle Craft is not showing under Plugins in my Sketch. And when I reinstalled the Craft application, it's keeping showing the message below, but I really don't know what's going on.

Hi Qing,

As a next step, I'd like to have you perform a comprehensive, deep uninstall/reinstall of Craft using the steps below. Please skip any steps that are not applicable (e.g. if a file/folder mentioned is not present):

  1. Close Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Close).
  2. Go into Sketch, and navigate to Plugins ➝ Manage Plugins.
  3. In the pop-up modal, select Craft by InVision Labs, and click the gear icon in the lower left and select the uninstall option. This will move some items to the trash.
  4. Quit Sketch entirely.
  5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels (if applicable) processes.
  6. Open Spotlight and search for ~/Library/Application Support/
  7. Delete the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder, the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager.json file, the com.invisionlabs.CraftInstaller folder, and the CraftManager folder.
  8. Open the com.bohemiancoding.sketch3 folder.
  9. Delete the Panels folder (if applicable). Please note that these steps will remove any custom Type or Photos items you’ve created in Craft Data. If you'd like to preserve those, please go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings and back up the file "com.invisionlabs.data."
  10. Open the Plugins folder.
  11. Delete the Panels.sketchplugin file (if applicable).
  12. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
  13. Search for craftinstaller and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
  14. In Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.
  15. Empty the Trash.
  16. Go to https://s3.amazonaws.com/www-assets.invisionapp.com/labs/craft/manager/CraftManager.zip and unzip the CraftManager
  17. Drag and drop the Craft Manager app into your computer's "Applications" folder or the folder of your choice before launching it.
  18. Open Craft Manager and then install Craft for Sketch.
  19. If you had backed up the "com.invisionlabs.data" file before performing these steps: launch Sketch now in order to rebuild the ` ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings ` directory. Then, place the backed up "com.invisionlabs.data" file in the ".settings" folder and restart Sketch to restore your custom Type & Photos items.

Please let me know if this does not solve your issue.

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

I'm having the exact same issue. However, mine happened all of sudden and not right after install. I just noticed one day all of the plugins missing from the sidebar. The only part left was the gray C at the top. I've done everything you have suggested here with no luck. Please see the info you asked for from someone above.

Sketch version 52.4

Thanks

Did anyone have this resolved?  I have a new Mac and have the same issue.  I updated Sketch to the latest version and I uninstalled and reinstalled Craft, same results.  Nothing seems to make it work.

Hey Mort,

A customer reported that this fixed the issue:

1. Close Craft Manager completely
2. In Finder, go to *Go > Go to Folder*
3. Type  ~/Library/Application Support/
4. Locate the folder called “CraftManager” and delete this folder entirely
5. Delete Craft installation files from the downloads folder
6. Empty the trash
7. Restart Craft Manager and then go back to preferences and try the install of the plugins for Sketch again.

They said, "I have now figured out what the issue is. After what you suggested all the apps showed up but since I don’t use DSM I turned it off within the Craft Manager, restated Sketch and all the plugins were missing again. So I went back in Craft Manager and turned on DSM again, restarted and they were there."

Please let me know if that solves your issue!

I'm so sorry for the frustration and inconvenience.

Beth

I have the same issue with Craft plugin. I followed the steps Beth mentioned but still when I click Craft it says the message below. This is after I deleted the folder and tried to reinstall it.

Hi Samad,

So sorry to see that you're running into these issues with Craft. We specifically look for Craft manager to be in your apps folder (only).

This error can sometimes appear when you try to run the CraftManager installation app when Craft is already running on the system. You will know if Craft is running if the Craft icon appears in the menu bar at the top of your screen:

It sounds like you may have more than one instance of CraftManager installed and/or running, but we don't want to make any assumptions so we'd like to dig in further. I've included some troubleshooting steps below:

1. If you aren’t seeing the Craft manager icon (as in the screenshot above), please try restarting your computer and re-running CraftManager Installer to see if the error persists.

2. If the same happens after that, would you be able to open your Applications folder, and search CraftManager to check whether you may have more than one version of CraftManager.app installed on your machine?
Please move any additional copies you see to the trash, and then empty your trash to ensure there is only a single CraftManager.app installed.

3. Additionally, please try the following steps:

1. Open search by clicking command + spacebar.
2. Search for Activity Monitor, and open Activity Monitor.
3. Within Activity Monitor, search CraftManager.
4. Select CraftManager, click the X in the upper-left of Activity Monitor (shown in the screenshot below), then click Force Quit.

5. Please then try opening and installing CraftManager once again.

4. If you encounter the same issue after that, could you send the CraftManager log files? The log files are located in ~/Library/Application Support/CraftManager/logs. You can either paste this path into Spotlight or use Finder (Go > Go To Folder…).
Simply compress the folder's contents and attach the resulting zip file to your reply.

This information will help us to further investigate the issue.

I look forward to your response,

Shaina

Hi Orlando,

I'd like to let you know it is related to an issue where Craft Manager (v1.0.103 216) does not work on Sketch 63 and MacOs 10.13.6 High Sierra, and has hidden panel. Our Craft engineering team has a workaround for you to get back up and running:

  1. Open the Terminal app on your Mac
  2. Paste defaults write com.invisionlabs.CraftManager CraftPinnedVersion -string 1.0.103-216 and hit enter
  3. Restart Craft manager

Craft Manager should work as expected for you now.

If you do choose to upgrade your operating system to 10.14 or newer, you can paste open terminal and paste defaults delete com.invisionlabs.CraftManager CraftPinnedVersion and hit enter to remove the applied setting.

Let us know if this works for you or you have any questions going forward.

Thank you,

Camille

Hi,

I have also done all that was suggested and it is still not working. I am on MacOs Catalina. My Sketch is version 70.6. Can you help me get CraftManager running? Will Camille M's runaround work? I didn't want to attempt it because I am on Catalina. Thanks for your help. Amy

Hi,

I have a different problem with  the craft.  When I first downloaded the zipped file to install the craft, it did not ask me to install it. The Craft Icon rather appeared  at the header,  showing the " sketch is not installed " . please refer to screen shots below.

I tried many to delete and reinstall again but the issue is still there.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you
