Craft not sync with Photoshop

I used to just save the document and it would sync with invision using photoshop, but now have to use Craft and it's stuck not sending the artboards to Invision. I read to reduce to 1x the pixel density, but that didn't helkp either. Please help. Everything is up to date on my photoshop and Craft. I also get this message "There’s been an error starting Photoshop generator. Please make sure you have it enabled under Preferences > Plug-ins > Enable Generator, and restart Photoshop." I already did that and still not working. Please, help.

UPDATE

We have seen cases regarding this issue where the plugin "Generator" was installing itself under the normal Photoshop file directory instead of under the Plug-ins. To resolve this issue, please try to move the "Generator" folder into the "Plug-ins" directory, as displayed in the screenshot below:

same case for us - this is happening for several weeks now, and currently we cannot move forward with our work..

- is there an estimation to fix this major issue?

- is there another way to sync PSD with Invision?

Hi Leon,

Sorry to hear that you're unable to located the "Generator" folder. Are you on a Mac or Windows machine? If you are on a Mac, can you please provide a screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview?

Thanks,

Shaina

Hi guys!

Same issue here. After downloading Craft Manager, I'm unable to sync any files with Inivision despite having the plug-ins enabled through PS. And there seems to be no trace of the elusive "Generator" folder that evidentally will solve the syncing issues. PS in providing this error message for that not being found...

Hi guys,

I have the same problem, but the generator directory is in the right place, though it's empty (there are no directories or files in Generator directory).

What can be done to figure this out?

Thanks,

Rozitta

Hi Rozitta,

Thank you for the reaching out here in Community and your willingness to try a few workarounds. It sounds like you've certainly looked for the generator in the places it should be. Considering, could you please follow the steps below to reinstall CraftManager and the plugin? (Please skip any steps that are not applicable to you.)

  1. Open Craft Manager from your Application folder
  2. Clicking the gear icon and select "Preferences"
  3. Click on "Uninstall" next to ”Craft for Photoshop”, then click the "x" in the top right corner of that window.
  4. Quit Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Quit).
  5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the CraftManager.
  6. Open a new Finder window and click on the menu bar option "Go" then select "Go to Folder" and type in `~/Library/Application Support/`
  7. In the Application Support folder locate the following files and folders and move them to your trash:
    1. `com.invisionlabs.CraftManager` folder
    2. `com.invisionlabs.craft.json` file,
    3. `com.invisionlabs.sync.json` file,
    4. and the `CraftManager` folder.
  8. Navigate to your "Downloads" folder.
  9. Search for `craftmanager` and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
  10. In your "Applications" or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete "CraftManager.app"
  11. Empty the Trash.
  12. Go to https://www.invisionapp.com/craft and download CraftManager
  13. Install CraftManager and then install the Craft plugin for Photoshop and make sure the plugin is up to date as shown below.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with the steps above. I’m happy to assist!

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Sorry to hear that you're also running into these issues, Krista. Before passing this along to our Support team for further testing, can you please provide the following information?:

  1. If you connect to alternate network (no VPNs, firewalls, proxies etc.) are you able to sync successfully?
  2. A screenshot showing the error message that you're receiving.
  3. I would also like to double check that your screens have been designed on artboards in Photoshop. In order to sync your project to InVision, your layers must exist on artboards. Read more about how to use artboards in Photoshop.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

I keep receiving a Script Alert error when trying to sync my project from Photoshop.

Sync

There's been an error starting Photoshop generator. Please make sure you have enabled under Preferences > Plug-ins > Enable Generator, and restart Photoshop.

I've confirmed Enable Generator is selected and have restarted photoshop several times.

Are there any plans to develop a plugin for Adobe XD or to allow for direct upload to Invision of XD/PSD files without having to use a plugin?

Windows 10 Enterprise
Photoshop CC - 20.2.3
Craft 2.0.88
No issue with firewall, vpn

Hi Kevin,

Sorry to hear you're running into that issue!

Could you please confirm if you're using multiple versions of Photoshop at the same time? Maybe you still have the previous version of Photoshop installed?

If this is the case, could you try the following steps and let me know the results:

  1. Run "Command + Shift + B" on CraftManager window, enter ":clean" and click "Activate Code" to remove any bad state issue in Craft Manager
  2. Close all Photoshop versions
  3. Install Photoshop plugins from Craft Manager

Let me know if that helps, and please make sure you only launch one Photoshop version.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best,

Camille

I'm running only the latest version of Photoshop. Regardless, I'm unable to follow your instructions

1. Run "Command + Shift + B" on CraftManager window, enter ":clean" and click "Activate Code" to remove any bad state issue in Craft Manager

^This makes no sense. There is no "CraftManager" window that allows me to enter. I have the Sync plugin within photoshop, is that where I'm to do this? If so, nothing happens (I'm on PC so I'm assuming you either meant CTRL+Shift+B or ALT+Shift+B, neither worked). There's no program installed on my computer called "CraftManager" where I could perform this task either, there's the .zip where I installed the plugin but no program outside of photoshop.
