Remember Color Names

It's great that in a shared library that the color names will be saved. However, I'd really like the ability to do that in my document generated color style. If I make a change, add or remove a color, and resync; all my carefully crafted color names change back to Color Name.

If the color doesn't change value then keep the name! Please!

Hi Steve, thanks for your question and welcome! Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with those document colors reverting back to the default. It sounds like we need to dig into this further for answers, so I'm opening up a ticket with our Support team. Keep an eye out for a separate message from us so we can troubleshoot. Thanks!

I am also interested in this - I have held off on adding all my colors to our design system library because I don't like groundhog day type work.

Along the same lines - completing this process would be 1000x better if the names of my shared styles were pulled in, where those colors were used.

for example:

I may have 4 objects using the same hex value, but each object has an independent purpose, and at some point down the road I may need to change each of them independently. So rather than just seeing I have the hex [#049FD9] in my file, (even though it is used in multiple locations, and already given unique names), I would LOVE if the style syncing pulled the shared style names, and wrote the artboard to contain them like such: "Swatch name A [#049FD9]" and "Swatch B [#049FD9]" and so on...

Hi There, thanks for joining the Community! Our support team is working with Steve to get to the bottom of this issue, so we can certainly let you know what they find regarding the document colors reverting back to the default. In the meantime, we recommend making sure you're on the most recent version of Craft Library, version 1.0.62, to be sure this isn't caused by an outdated plugin.

As for your request to sync the shared style names, our Product team is gathering feedback around this suggestion. I'm sending a separate message your way so we can add your vote to this feature request. Thanks!
