Craft API

First of all: I've been using Craft for a while now and I love it.

At the moment we are building a Sketch plugin that supports our internal Atomic Design way of working. We would love to use Craft to create links between artboards to be able to link different "components' with our plugin, similar to pressing the "c" in prototype mode. Is there a way to programmatically use this Craft function from another plugin?

Welcome to the InVision Community, Martijn! It’s so awesome to hear you and your team are loving Craft so much that you’re looking for a way to integrate Craft into your Sketch plugin. While an API or other method for integrating Craft with your own plugin isn’t available currently, we’d love to pass your feedback along so our Product team can review and consider this for a future release. Keep an eye out for confirmation from our Support team, as I’ve created a ticket on your behalf to track your interest and should be hearing back soon.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for the very quick reply! Good to hear that you consider it for a future release. I'll keep my fingers crossed :) In case you have/develop a workaround, I'm also interested of course.

Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Hello Elizabeth,

Does Craft interface with Invision Studio?

Hi Shane,

For our initial release of Studio, Freehand, Sync, and Prototype are targeted to have 100% parity with their equivalent Craft plugins (note that these are being natively implemented so some differences in how/where these are implemented will occur). This means that you won't need the Craft plugins because the features, or similar features, will be in Studio itself.

Feature equivalents for the Library, Data, and Duplicate plugins will be coming soon but may not be in play for our initial release. Craft Stock will not have parity in the immediate, though we would love to see this functionality come to Studio eventually via our Studio Apps ecosystem targeted for debut in the latter part of 2018.

At this time, Studio has Publishing and Sharing features which mimics Craft Sync, for example. You can learn more about Publishing and Sharing here in the Getting Started Guide, as well as review the entire Studio Getting Started Guide here to familiarize yourself with all of the other features Studio currently offers.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day,
