craft sync with photoshop CC won't work

Hey there, as I read many people have this problem, that the artboards are not syncing

in any pixel density and after turning on the genertor in ther preferences and restarting ps many times..

Sadly the Help Center Community isnt a big help because

you can only read that the post is closed before someone gave a helpful answer..

    Hi Thess!

Thanks for getting in touch with us on InVision Community! Apologies for the closed thread. I believe our engineers identified the source of that issue, and we subsequently released a fix.

Could you please reinstall the plugins for Craft Sync in Photoshop using the following procedure:

    1. Click on the Craft Manager icon, 'C' in the menu bar
    2. Click on the gear icon and select the 'Preferences' option
    3. Uninstall Craft for Photoshop by clicking on the button
    4. Close the 'Preferences' modal
    5. Reinstall the Craft Plugins (Sync specifically)
    6. Restart Photoshop

That should fix the issue. Let me know if it does not!

    Thanks,
    Beth

I have the same issue on Mac.  I have Adobe Photoshop 19.1.1 and just installed Craft. The sync button won't show up.  Then I followed the steps above to see if it would help.  But same problem.  There's no Sync button. Can you help?

    Hi Saptarshi,

Sorry to hear that you're also running into this issue. While in Photoshop, have you tried enabling the Sync button via "Window" > "Extensions". Please see the screenshot below:

If this still does not work, please let me know.

    Thanks!

There is no "Sync" selection in the Extensions menu. I am running Photoshop version 2017.1.1 and Craft Manager version 1.0.70.

    Hi Timothy,

You may be running into this issue because Craft only supports the latest two versions of Photoshop. Can you please try updating your Photoshop version, and let me know if you continue to run into this issue?

Look forward to hearing from you,

    Shaina

    Hi!,

I just updated Photoshop to the latest version (2019 - 20.0.1) and the Sync extension just stopped working. It won't upload any art boards even after turning on the generator in preferences. Any idea what I can do to make it work again? Thanks!

    Hi Fernanda,

I'm so sorry to hear about the troubles you've been having with the Photoshop plugin. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this.

First, I'd like to start by checking what operating system you're using. Can you please provide any operating system version details?

    Thanks,

    Shaina

    Hi Fernanda,

Thank you very much for identifying your operating system information.

First, I'd like to start by checking to see if there are any OS updates for your mac. We've seen a few similar reports in the past and some of them were resolved via a system update that needed to be installed. If you see an available update, would you be able to give that a try and let me know if the problem persists?

If that doesn’t work, then I'd like to take a look at where the plugin generator is located on your computer. We have seen cases where the plugin "Generator" was installing itself under the normal Photoshop file directory instead of under the "Plug-ins" folder. Could you open up your Photoshop directory and move the "Generator" folder into the "Plug-ins" directory if it's not already there? Here's a screenshot of how the folder structure should appear:

Let me know how things look after giving that a try!

    Best,

    Shaina

    Shaina,

Unfortunately none of this worked :( I just updated my mac OS and the plugin generator is under the "Plug-ins" folder. Is there anything else I could try?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Fernanda,

Thanks for checking that for me! Could you please also check if the generator folder includes "com.invisionlabs.sync-generator" and "com.invisionlabs.freehand-generator" folders, if the generator folder is empty, it indicates the plugin is not installed properly. When you have a minute, could you please follow the steps below to reinstall CraftManager and the plugin? (Please skip any steps that's not applicable for you)

    1. Open Craft Manager from your Application folder
    2. Clicking the gear icon and select "Preferences"
    3. Click on "Uninstall" next to ”Craft for Photoshop”, then click the "x" in the top right corner of that window.
    4. Quit Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Quit).
    5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the CraftManager.
    6. Open a new Finder window and click on the menu bar option "Go" then select "Go to Folder" and type in `~/Library/Application Support/`
    7. In the Application Support folder locate the following files and folders and move them to your trash:
     `com.invisionlabs.CraftManager` folder
     `com.invisionlabs.craft.json` file,
     `com.invisionlabs.sync.json` file,
      and the `CraftManager` folder.
    8. Navigate to your "Downloads" folder.
    9. Search for `craftmanager` and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
    10. In your "Applications" or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete "CraftManager.app"
    11. Empty the Trash.
    12. Go to https://www.invisionapp.com/craft and download CraftManager
    13. Install CraftManager and then install Craft plugin for Photoshop and make sure the plugin is up to date.

Could you please also send me a screenshot for "About this Mac"?

If you have any trouble with these steps at all please let me know where you get stuck.

    Best,

    Shaina

I'm having the same issue as Fernanda, however I am unable to uninstall Craft Manager as it says "Not Installed".

When I try to 'check for updates' I get a notification box saying "You're up-to-date! CraftManager 1.0.73 is currently the newest version available."

How do I manually uninstall Craft Manager on macOS Mojave 10.14?

    Thanks,

    Merryn

    Hi Merryn,

Sorry about the issue you're experiencing with Craft!  As a next step, I'd like to have you perform a comprehensive, deep uninstall/reinstall of Craft using the steps below. Please skip any steps that are not applicable (e.g. if a file/folder mentioned is not present) and let me know if you get stuck anywhere along the way:

    1. Close Craft Manager (by clicking into the "C" > clicking the gear icon > choosing Close).
    2. Go into Sketch, and navigate to Plugins ➝ Manage Plugins.
    3. In the pop-up modal, select Craft by InVision Labs, and click the gear icon in the lower left and select the uninstall option. This will move some items to the trash.
    4. Quit Sketch entirely.
    5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels (if applicable) processes.
    6. Open Spotlight and search for ~/Library/Application Support/
    7. Delete the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder, the com.invisionlabs.CraftManager.json file, the com.invisionlabs.CraftInstaller folder, and the CraftManager folder.
    8. Open the com.bohemiancoding.sketch3 folder.
    9. Delete the Panels folder (if applicable). Please note that these steps will remove any custom Type or Photos items you’ve created in Craft Data. If you'd like to preserve those, please go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings and back up the file "com.invisionlabs.data."
    10. Open the Plugins folder.
    11. Delete the Panels.sketchplugin file (if applicable).
    12. Navigate to the Downloads folder.
    13. Search for craftinstaller and delete any files that deal with the Craft Installation process.
    14. In Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.
    15. Empty the Trash.
    16. Go to https://craft-assets.invisionapp.com/CraftManager/production/CraftManager.zip and unzip the CraftManager
    17. Drag and drop the Craft Manager app into your computer's "Applications" folder or the folder of your choice before launching it.
    18. Open Craft Manager and then install Craft for Sketch.
    19. If you had backed up the "com.invisionlabs.data" file before performing these steps: launch Sketch now in order to rebuild the ` ~/Library/Application Support/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Panels/.settings ` directory. Then, place the backed up "com.invisionlabs.data" file in the ".settings" folder and restart Sketch to restore your custom Type & Photos items.

Please let me know if you run into any trouble with any of those steps in the process.  We'll be glad to see how we can help.  Looking forward to your response to see how it goes!

    Best,

    Shaina

    Hi Merryn,

Whoops! Sorry for the oversight. Please skip any steps that don’t apply (e.g. if a file or folder mentioned is not present), and let me know if you get stuck anywhere along the way:

    1. In your macOS menu bar, click the Craft Manager icon.

    2. Click the gear icon, and then click Preferences.

    3. Next to Craft for Photoshop, click Uninstall. In the top-right corner, click X.

    4. Quit Craft Manager (by clicking the Craft Manager icon > gear icon > Quit).

    5. Open the Activity Monitor (via Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor), and then force quit the Craft Manager and Panels processes (if applicable).

    6. Open a new Finder window and navigate to the Applications folder.

    7. Browse to the Adobe Photoshop CC #### folder that matches your current version; then browse to Plug-ins > Generator > and delete any folder that starts with “com.invisionlabs.“ If you don’t see any, continue to step 8!

    8. Open a new Finder window and, in the top menu bar, click Go > Go to Folder.

    9. Type “~/Library/Application Support/” and click Go.

    10. In the Application Support folder, locate the following files and folders and move them to the Trash
      com.invisionlabs.CraftManager folder
      com.invisionlabs.craft.json file
      com.invisionlabs.sync.json file
      CraftManager folder.

    11. Navigate to your Downloads folder. Search for “craftmanager” and delete any files related to the Craft installation process.

    12. In your Applications or the folder in which you installed Craft Manager, delete CraftManager.app.

    13. Empty the Trash.

    14. Go to https://craft-assets.invisionapp.com/CraftManager/production/CraftManager.zip and unzip CraftManager.

    15. Drag and drop the CraftManager.app into your computer's Applications folder before launching it.

    16. Open Craft Manager and install Craft for Photoshop.

Let me know how it goes,

    Shaina
