Anchor scrolling bug with position

I have a prototype with a long scrollable page. By using the "anchor scrolling" option I can scroll through the page in 3 animated steps. ("Smooth scrolling transition" looks amazing by the way!). So, in total there are 3 buttons with "scroll further" which slides the screen upwards when clicking on them.

This option works fine if I refresh the page and then start clicking the buttons, but when I reach the long page from another screen, each button scrolls the page way too far and too fast.

It seems like the software has problems determining the scroll position. I cannot find a solution unfortunately.

Hopefully someone has an answer!

I have the same problem, in edit mode the position of the anchors works fine, but when I share the url then the position of the anchors does not work correctly moving the screen to another position Y of the prototype.

It is annoying because the users who do the tests do not understand what happens.

My team and I had this issue, and what solved it for us was changing the export size of the Craft plugin. Currently Craft syncs the artboards at @2x by default, while InVision web app displays them at @1x. So when you set your anchor tag to 400px for example it will double that amount in the prototype.

To solve this we went into Craft's Preferences under "Sync", and under "Exported pixel density" selected 1x.

Hope that helps!! It was driving us all nuts :)

The solution of Crystal Tam seems to work for me!

Many thanks for sharing the solution. However, the resolution is rather low after changing the density to 1x. But I will find a way to fix that.

Atleast I know what causes the problem :)

No, it doesn't work!!! Working with Sketch 49 and Craft 1.0.54 (82).  Still doubles the pixel. Please fix this. It's not an option to do the workaround and export screens in lower resolution.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Would also really be nice to be able to use the 2x export option in Craft without it breaking these anchor links.

Hi Jared,

I helped myself with a little hack: After the modal for anchor linking popped up, you can use the dev-tools of your browser and resize the uploaded screen to the right size if you add "width:" to the css in the element inspector. Just fill in half the size of your uploaded screen. Check the screenshot:

This is still an issue - when will it be fixed? (scroll position is incorrect)

Hi Asa,

Sorry to hear that you're still experiencing this issue. Our engineering team has resolved this issue for the screens that are uploaded at 1x pixel density, however, for the retina screens that are uploaded with @2x suffix added at the end of screen name, the issue is still outstanding.

We're continuing to work on a solution and as soon as there's any further update, we'll post in this thread. I will also open a ticket on your behalf with our Support team so that they can reach out to you directly with any updates. Please look for a message from them soon.

Thanks for your patience while we work on a solution for this issue.

Have a wonderful day,

Shaina

Thanks, Shaina - this affects pretty much anyone on a mac and anyone who uses craft to sync with invision (as files are uploaded with @2x by default). 1x pixel density looks pretty low-res to us ...

Hi Asa,

We completely understand the impact that this has on all Craft Sync users. I have made our Product Manager aware of this issue, and your comments in regards to this issue.

Thanks for hanging in there while we work on a fix for this issue.

Best,

Shaina

Hi Li,

I'm sorry for the trouble you're encountering with anchor points scrolling to the wrong place on the screen!

This reports above are related to an issue our engineering team is currently investigating with anchor points scrolling too far in Share links, specifically when the screen image is scaled (e.g. due to "Scale Down to Browser Width", or when using the @2x retina suffix which scales the screen down to 50%).

In the meantime, I do have a couple of potential workarounds. One we've found to avoid encountering this issue is to avoid working with scaled screens. This means working only with screens that do not have the @2x modifier and to avoid using "Scale Down to Browser Width", though unfortunately these will understandably impact your design quality. Also, if you are considering switching your screens to 1x please note that changing from 2x to 1x will impact the placement of hotspots and comments. I understand these workarounds are far from ideal, and for that I apologize.

Please let me know if this helps, and if you would like me to open a ticket on your behalf with our Support team to report your incident as well.

Best,

Shaina

Thank you for quick respond, Shaina. If the team is working on solve this issue, I don't think a new ticker is necessary. Thanks!
