Can't live embed my project vía Iframes or any otherwise

The option "Live Embed" don't seem to be available in my workflow dropdown menu. Any insights?

Hi Javier, welcome! It appears as though you may be trying to live embed an entire desktop/web prototype, as opposed to an entire prototype. You can currently only embed a single screen of a desktop prototype

For more details about how to use Live Embed, I suggest checking out our Help Center article.

If you're having trouble embedding an entire mobile prototype, please let me know and we'll investigate. Thanks!

Got it. Let me be a little more specific; I built a site on Google Sites and would like it to have a frame with the project inside, as some sort of animated menu. The prototype works fine, I'm just wondering how to use it in my own site. I though perhaps pasting the prototype's HTML code in an HTML frame.

Thanks for your response.

Thanks for the additional context, Javier. In that case, you'll want to use the iframe custom embed option, as we do not offer a way to copy HTML code. When embedding your entire prototype, go to the ... menu, click Embed Prototype, and choose iframe. Then copy and paste the code into your site where you'd like the prototype to be embedded:

Give that a try and let me know if you have other questions.

I have a similar if not the same problem, i am trying to paste a prototype like a menu only in front of another webbservice, it works getting the iframe of a mobile prototype, but not the one of a desktop prototype, even if is only one screen.

Hi Annalisa,

Unfortunately, Live Embed for the whole prototype isn't formally supported for desktop prototypes. Currently, you can only embed a single screen of a desktop prototype, as opposed to an entire prototype. Please see below:

To learn more about Live Embed, read more here.

Hi,

I might have missed something but I cannot see any other options than "View prototype" as an option when hovering above my project./ Is that because I'm on a free plan? I have checked all your tutorial about it and there is no mention of limitation for the plan. If I was to move to the basic plan, would I be able to see more option (more importantly the embed option as I'm a UX student and I would like to showcase my work using an embed iframe on my website.

Thanks

Mika

Hi Mika,

Thank you for reaching out about this. Can you please provide the following information so that I can determine what might be going on here?:

     1. Was your prototype made using Studio or another program?
     2. How was your prototype uploaded to the InVision web app?
     3. Can you please provide a screenshot displaying the issue you have described above?
     4. Can you please provide your browser details?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

I have the same problem as Mika described above. Currently I am on a free plan.

To answer your questions:

1. I made my prototype using Sketch.

2. I uploaded the pngs into Invision app.

3.

4. I have Google Chrome.

Look Forward to hearing from you.

Hi Konstantinos,

Sorry to hear that you're also running into issues with live embed. Thanks for taking the time to provide the details you have above. So that we can get a better idea of what might be causing this, I'd like to dig a little deeper. Can you please provide the following information?:

  1. A screenshot of your "About this Mac" overview
  2. The version of Sketch that you're using
  3. Did you using Craft at all in this process? If so, what version of Craft Manager are you running?
  4. Can you please provide your browser details which you can find here?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

Thanks for getting back to me. Much appreciated. Please see below the information:

1.

2. I am Using version 53.2

3. No I did not use Craft.

4.

Also, yesterday one of your colleagues email me the following when I asked him the same question: "You're currently running our V7 account, which does not yet have the ability to embed/export prototypes. We have an open feature request for this that I'll up-vote. The documentation available is for our V6 accounts. The version of the account (V7 vs V6) vs the paid level currently doesn't have the embed functionality. So upgrading your plan will not have any impact until the feature request is rolled out."

Is there anything that we could do so that I can embed my prototypes?

Kind regards,

Konstantinos

Hi Konstantinos,

As your Support agent mentioned, V7 does not support live embed at this time. And unfortunately, we are unable to provide a workaround or rollback to V6 at this time.

I looked into your ticket with Support and it looks like your Support agent has already provided your feedback regarding this potential feature for V7. I went ahead and added this additional feedback to your ticket and notified your Support agent of your comments here as well.

I'm sorry that we're unable to solve this issue for you at this time. If you have any follow up questions, please don't hesitate to reach out here or in your ticket.

Thanks for hanging in there,

Shaina

Hi Tom,

Sorry to hear that Live Embed isn't working as expected for you. To get a better idea of exactly what you're seeing on your end, can you please provide a screencast or screenshot(s) displaying what's going wrong?

Additionally, can you please confirm that you're following the steps provided in this help article

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi!

I have run into a similar problem. I can't find an option to Embed at all. I created this prototype in the InVision app.

This is my screenshot. When I hover over the first art board, "Play" is the only option that I can see.

Looking forward to a solution.

Thanks!

Hi Pallavi,

Thanks so much for taking the time reach out here in Community. It looks like you're currently using InVision's latest Cloud V7. Some InVision Cloud V6 features are not currently supported in InVision V7 due to low usage, including Live Embed. This is why you're not seeing this option in your account.

We are currently tracking interest to bring back Live Embed of individual screens in Cloud V7. If you're interested in this, please let me know and I will open a ticket on your behalf to track your feedback about bringing back this feature.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Shaina

Hi Shaina,

I wanted to reply directly to your comment, however I didn't see an option. And to answer your question - yes! It would be great to be able to embed screens. I am trying to add this project to my portfolio in Behance, which needed an embedded code.

Can I open this project in InVision 6 and then embed the project?

Thanks!

Hi Pallavi,

Direct messages and mentions are not yet available here in Community, but rest assured that an InVision Community Moderator such as myself will always see your comments. I appreciate this feedback though and will share it with the rest of the team!

As for that feature request, I will go ahead and get a ticket opened on your behalf to track your interest for this. Please look for an email confirming that we've done so.

At this time, it's not possible to migrate/transfer prototypes between V6 & V7. However, this is another feature that we're currently tracking interest for. We may also be able to offer a workaround for your instance in the meantime. I will have one of our Support agents discuss this with you in a separate ticket.

Please keep an eye out for those two emails. If there's anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Have a great day!

Shaina
