With DSM, version control allows your team to publish a version of a design system at any given time over the course of its life, meaning that you can access any previous version should you need to. As a design system grows, you may be working with an older version as a new one is rolling out. However your team manages your product design, with DSM, you'll have flexibility to find what you need.
If you want to revert back to an older component, you can switch to an earlier release and sync your designs. There’s a lot of flexibility and visibility in DSM when working with your design system history right on down to component history.
In Sketch, you can switch versions via the DSM Sketch plugin:
- Open the plugin and, to the right on the system name.
- Click the version drop down (it may say Draft or the version you're viewing).
- Select the preferred version, and select Switch.
Tip: To see a comparison between versions, sign into a design system's documentation site to access its version history and then compare versions.
