Introducing your Design System
The introduction to your design system is an important piece to onboarding and enabling your users to best utilize it.
The introduction should cover these basics:
- The what—What have you built. Explain your design system name. Explicitly call out what products, devices its serves for now and in the future
- The why—What is its purpose? Goals and objectives.
- The who—Who is this for? Be clear to mention whether the design system isn’t ready to be consumed by a certain role. And if that is the case, highlight the when.
- Quick links—Give your users links to the content you want them to consume first!
- Contact and support—Provide communication channels upfront
