Configuring public share link settings for InVision V7 prototypes

This article provides answers for InVision V7. If you’re on V6 of InVision, read this article instead. Not sure which version you're using? Find out now.

When choosing the prototype share settings for a specific public share link in InVision V7, you'll want to know details about each option.

When creating a public share link to a prototype, you'll see the following settings in the Share dialog.

Enable hotspot hinting

Let your prototype viewers see hotspot hints when they click the screen of a desktop prototype or touch the screen of a mobile or watch prototype.

Enable commenting

Let your prototype viewers see and leave comments.

Hide InVision UI

Hide the InVision toolbar that's typically seen at the bottom of the InVision Console.

Hiding the InVision UI prevents viewers from commenting or accessing screens via the thumbnail tray.

Enable arrow key navigation

Allow users to navigate the prototype by pressing the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard.

To ensure that users can only navigate the prototype using hotspots, toggle this setting off.

Enable password protection

Require viewers to enter a password, which you set, before they can access the document.

Password protection for prototypes is exclusively available for InVision V7 Enterprise teams. It's not currently possible to share boards, freehands, or specs as public share links; therefore, it's also not possible to share them as password-protected public share links.

Delete public share link

Click Delete link to prevent anyone who had a copy of the link from accessing the document.

Settings that you have enabled are indicated by a checkmark (invision-cloud-v7-public-link-setting-checkmark.png).

To change public share link settings for your document:

  1. Open the document and click the green Share button.
  2. Click the Public tab of the share dialog.
  3. At the bottom of the dialog, click Update public link settings.
  4. Change the settings as wanted and click Done.
