When using a trackpad to pan in Studio for Windows, you may notice it feels a little more restrictive than it did during early September 2019 (and earlier). This issue is related to a recent update Google Chrome made to scrolling behavior, which now establishes a directional locking mechanism after you begin scrolling either horizontally or vertically. For example, if you begin scrolling horizontally, Google Chrome will prevent you from then immediately scrolling vertically.
While this change obviously did not directly impact the Studio for Windows codebase, it does impact the behavior of panning in Studio for Windows when using the trackpad. Our engineers are investigating potential solutions to this minor limitation in hopes of re-introducing more flexible scrolling capabilities as soon as possible.
