Sharing InVision V7 Documents

This article provides answers for InVision V7. If you’re on InVision V6, read this article instead. Not sure which version you're using? Find out now.

There are three ways to share your documents in InVision V7:

  • Individual invites
  • Document links
  • Public share links

Inviting people to a document

To invite specific people or user groups to a document:

  1. Open a document and, at the top right, click Share.
  2. Click the Members & Guests tab.
  3. In the To: field, enter the name of a person or user group. To add someone who isn't yet a member of your team, enter their email address.
  4. To the right of the person's name or email address, click the drop-down and select Can edit or Can review.
  5. Click Invite.

If you updated from V6, your existing teams were converted to user groups. Before inviting, learn how teams and user groups differ.

Using document links

Document links are the main URLs for prototypes, boards, and freehands.

To get a document link:

  1. Open a document and, at the top right, click Share.
  2. Click the Members & Guests tab.
  3. To the right of Copy link, click Settings.
  4. On the Manage sharing settings page, select an option for Who can open this document? and What can they do?

  5. Click Save.
  6. Back in the share dialog, click Copy Link.

You can now share that document link as needed.

Using public share links

Only available for prototypes, public share links make it easy to share your document with a broader audience that's not part of your team. If you are on an Enterprise plan, you can also password protect public links.

Creating a public share link

Before you copy a document link, get familiar with InVision V7 document link settings.

To create a public share link:

  1. Open the document and, at the top right, click Share.
  2. In the share dialog, click the Public tab, and then click Get Public Link.
    If there is an existing public link for the document, you won't see the Get Public Link screen.
  3. Click Update public link settings, make any changes to your settings, and then click Done.
    Password protection is exclusively available for InVision V7 Enterprise teams. To learn more about document link settings, check out this article: What settings are available for public links?
  4. Back in the share dialog, copy the public link URL.

You can now share that public document link with anyone you choose.

Deleting a public share link

At some point, you may want to revoke public access to your document. To delete a public share link:

  1. Open a document and, at the top right, click Share.
  2. Click the Public tab, and then click Update public link settings.
  3. Click Delete link.

The public link is immediately deleted and no longer accessible.
